Chickenscratch, we are way too far away from you for her to put hives at your place. So far we have found 5 additional properties for her to put hives on. She is really appreciative. So, I let my horses out at 8 pm and those dirty ba$tards ran down to the river and wont come back up. I can't see them, but I think I can hear them behind some bushes. So I came back into the house to recharge my flashlight. Because the last thing I want is to be wading in a swap with 3 horses and have everything go pitch black. Why can't the idiots just come back up here? My husband is at a friend's right now. I just want to leave them out but I know he'll have a fit.

Too bad you can't just throw out some scratch and call "Chick, chick, chick"!!

Lisa-nice, old, aquarium! We have a 50 G tank but its all fresh water, I don't have the knowledge, space, or time to do a salt tank.

Spent most of the day outdoors

Retainers suck, my back hurts, and 2 of the kids come back tomorrow...ugh! Then we have a brief weekend before going on vacation. DH thinks that in the midst of closing on the house that we can afford to spend money on a vacation...um I think not! I think we are traveling to St. Louis for a few days.

If you just try to keep your retainer in your mouth and not nap on it.your back prolly wont hurt ? just a thought

Update on my FF.... started soaking yesterday, gave some of it today sprinkled with some oats and they all went to town on it. It was the oats that made them check it out though, as when I first set the dish down they just gave it the crooked eye. Sprinkle anything with oats and they go nutzo!

I still have their dry food in there too and I'm wondering if I keep it in there for them or remove it?
Also, some seem to have a pretty firm crop, others are kinda squishy. Is that ok /normal? I have a tray of sand /dirt mix with them at all times. (My newbie sign is flashing!)

My horses come in when I rattle the gate chain and call "TREATS" Never fails...they listen better than some people's kids for sure. There must be something that they really like down there...or they arent very hungry.

What else was I going to say? Oh yeah, my nephew has salt water tanks like that. Very cool! I always wanted one but have a hard enough time maintaining our freshwater one! We had this store near where I grew up; it was the best place to go to look at fish. They never had a problem with us hanging out there and ooing and aahing at the tanks. They had salt, fresh and brackish and were very knowledgeable about keeping fish.
Speaking of: we stopped at Rock River Park today after Menards and there was a man and his little son fishing. They were from Georgia. He caught this one and didnt know what it was so we were looking at his app on his ohone to figure it out. I sent a pick asking DH what he thought it was and he answered, "whose hand is that?" HMMMM...I think he was wondering who I was fishing with!

So we decided that it was a Freshwater Drum according to his app. Then DH said a Sheepshead. Well, when Googling that we found out that a sheepshead is actually a saltwater fish but it dies have a freshwater counterpart called....a Drum! Learned something new today!

That tank scum you can get off with a mixture of aquarium salt and vinegar Kristip. We used to get it on out tanks all the time at the Petshop. The other thing that will probably work is a Mr Clean Sponge. That seems to work on everything I have tried it on.

It is the fluffiest chick I have ever seen! I "thought" this bunch was purebred eggs...*sigh*

Jim--that's a lot of food for dinner! Fish, steak AND mac and cheese? WOW! I had tuna, salsa and chips, and a V8. THe kids had chicken noodle soup and Ky was so proud of me cause I figured out how to make it just like her Mom! She informed me that she did not care for MY chicken noodle soup...so Campbell's it was....She had a fever of 101 and he was 99. (This was before soup.) She had a fit about taking medicine--he wanted it! I didnt really think his fever was high enough to warrant meds!

John Tesch is talking about GF right now. Frenchie--according to the FDA laws wheat has to be declared on the label becauseit is one of the major allergens. Gluten does not have to be declared so you need to know where hidden gluten occurs. (modified food starch, flavorings, spices caramel coloring etc) You can find good information at celiac.com. HTH.

OK--kids are gone...since I need to get up at 5AM tomorrow to go to work I guess I better get my butt in bed!

I would love a salt water tank but I am past my prime, not enough energy to clean out my empty 55 gal fresh tank let alone set up the brand new on in the box out in the garage.
I'd like to breed Angel fish. Never did it but would like to, but yes Horseship, donkeyship, ponyship, chickenship, duckship, guineaship and husbandship as all taken up so much of my time............ wow even just typing all that makes me tired.

TO, thanks for the info... that makes sense, to bad I flipped my bifocals behind the headboard and on the floor today. Can't reach them nohow.... will find a long stick or broom tomorrow. Then I can read the yogurt label !!! lol

Amy..... I know Dean from Morfeys very well but I saw him at the Racine office and occasionally in the Milw office.


Got a call from my Internist's office today. They called to appoligize that they didn't call me last night like they said about my sleep study and pulm function tests. And get this, now I have to wait until Monday. She said my doctor got the results but didn't have any idea what they meant. She said that my doctor said he's been in practice for 40 years and he has no idea what the guy was talking about !!! (or something like that) So I asked if the bottom line was does he think I have sleep apnea, she said no he thinks it has something to do with my breathing..... so I asked if my pulm function test came in... she said yes but the same doctor read and wrote that report !!!!!!
So he asked for it to be read by someone else yesterday and they never called him. So now it's going to his friend at St Lukes in Milw...... I'll tell ya... I have never done anything medically by the book.... guess I'm not going to start now !!!
I did get my adreanal gland and pitutie gland results back today and they are normal..... I'm not but they are !!!

Hey Jim, I like the way you think..... I'll make a double batch of those cookies, one for you one for me !!!!

Yes, Moses was our only male cat.

Fixed or not, guess boys want to wonder. The only reason they go out is because they hang around the coop and go after mice. I think the turkeys will miss him, he would sit between their food and water at roost time.

Dom mom #2 that only has 2 chicks left escaped with the chicks again. Figured I'll just let her loose. Dom #1 has been going nuts too and wants out so I let her take her brood out too. What happens, happens. Doms don't seem to take confinement well. The Cochin and her 3 will be out soon too. Jasmine is broody and is brooding with the turkey in the coop, Hope there are no issues. Plan on planting today!!!

YEah, I get to be first!

Good morning! Up way too early cause I have to leave NOW! LOL! The kids are up and gone already, they are staffing a community run today in town. DH stayed on for the weekend in Nebraska since he has to be there early Monday...I sure wish he got paid for all these additional hours! He is camping so it is more like a drawn out vacation for him...must be nice!

Do with that, I better get my butt to work. Have a great day all--shilly start to it for sure.
