Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

YOW! Feathers are flying this morning already! Quick, everyone, grab a cuppa or a big chocolate bar and take a few deep breaths! Now sing it with me.... Kumbaya, my lord, kumbaya.......

OK - we're all smiling and holding hands so HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

BTW I still have a lot of weeds to pull/hoe if anyone wants to take their frustrations out on something. Just sayin'...

Kendra is coming this morning and it looks like a tornado went threw my house. Working long days this week has made me put house work on the back burner. I am so exhausted when I get home i make dinner, feed birds and go to bed. I am so glad I am not working today. I did not get home till after 7 last night and my day starts at 4 am.

Kendra,
I am working with Joe to help him out because of his arm and because it helps him with time. I tape the edges of bricks and stone so he can fill them with color cement with out staining the stone and brick. Then I remove the extra mud and pull the tape off. It is exacting work, and time consuming. The tape needs to be prefect to make the joint beautiful with out flaws and gaps, and with out stains from the colored cement. I like the work, but, my old body suffers from bending over and kneeling for 7 or more hours. Not many over 55 woman have flexability like they used to. I know I do not.
Quote: I demand chick pictures!!!

He sounds like a *savior* for the flock. It would be a great name! His daddy is the same way. He is aggressive to attacks and protects the flock.
Oh... And good morning to those who didn't irritate me this morning. I don't really want to decapitate everyone.... Perhaps coffee in is order
lol..good morning
I am excited for you. Chocolate chicks are very exciting. I know you will love your little bantams. They are pretty big for bantams if they are Marc's line.
Morning

Morning all. Well I'm closer to retiring, met with the UW benefits people Tuesday thinking I could complete the paperwork, drop it off at the Dept. of Employee Trust Funds, then just wait out the next five months . . . did I just type 5 MONTHS

hmmm just a little excited. Then we are getting ready to leave the meeting and I tell them "next stop ETF" and the response was . . . "they won't accept any application until 90 days prior the the retirement date". Ok fine!!! Since 90 days is the beginning of October and my husband's birthday is 10/9, I thought that would be a good day for me to deliver my retirement paperwork. Happy birthday honey - now I get to be home to "help" with all the projects on the "honey do" list. Oh and by the way did I tell you I've added to that list

kristip: I'm so sorry to hear your going through this - are the teenagers getting better?

bl4: you mentioned that you can't wait to see Amy's baby girl . . . I've been so busy and with so many posts the time I do get on I end up skimming (sorry all) and I must have missed this, when did she have her baby?

Amy: CONGRATS on the birth of you baby girl.

vickiw: I wish I would have read the posts before I placed my Amazon order. I ordered the square Nesco because it was USA made. I hope it will be as good as the Excalibur. Also wanted to chime in on the scratch, we also use a scratch mix as a littel treat (hubby seams to think they like he need a little bed time snack), but we add a little something depending on whats on hand things like cut up bannanas, a little shredded cheese, meal worms, and especially in the winter he'll mix in a can of tuna. Yes - these girls are spoiled.

Jim: good to hear about your DD#2 getting the State nursing home job, yes those are good bennies. I was a payroll and benefit specialist for 24+ years with Dpt of Family Medicine so I know these bennies well.

Amyable: So glad you, bl4, irishrovr and everyone else up in that neck of the woods is ok. It is most unfortunate that the church sustained so much dammage, but thankfully no one was hurt and it will be rebuilt. I was really saddend to see that 75% of the Maribel Cave Hotel is gone. We camped up there a few years ago and I thought that was such a cool structure.

Colton: So sorry to hear about your chics. I must say, your sense of responsibilty and maturity alway impress me. You do your parents proud!! I hope you have better luck with the replacements. By the way . . . have fun on the football field this fall.

unkadan: I'm right there with you on supporting the mom and pop operations. We buy our layer's feed at a little shop in Paoli and I believe she said the blend comes from a farmer near Westby. Although I do buy my meat producer from F&F due to cost. They had it on sale last month for $2 less than the price I paid last year so we bought 30 50lb bags which is what I used for 75 birds. I've read that fermenting the feed will give better results with less feed so we started this year's batch of 150 meaties on fermented feed. It will be intresting to see how far the 30 bags takes me with twice as many birds as last year.

irishrovr: on the zucchini bread, I used to bake the loaves and freeze them, but one year only had time to shred the zucchini and freeze it in 2 cup (what my recipe calls for) packages. That worked out so well and took up a lot less room in my freezer, so that's how I do it all the time now JAT (just a thought)

Oops sorry long post

Hey BBL... You didn't go without power for 3 days... So stop your whining. "I'm in Starbucks freezing my &ss off with my hot coffee" Like I said... Work issues, you get to vent and did anybody tell you to shut it? The chicks are not here yet and they are exiting thing TO ME so excuse the hell out of me for thinking anyone would give a flying F. I wasn't crabby anymore till I come to catch up and see that Above comment. Thanks a bunch.

A couple of top ****** notch Chocolate Orpington chicks are arriving today. Breeding pair from Greenfire and Marc Sacre Lines. Hurray for f@cking me and thanks for reminding me nobody else really gives a sh!t about anybody else unless they serve a purpose. No comic relief, no purpose.
. Congrats on the chicks!!! Post pictures please. They sound really nice! I just love orphingtons of all kinds.

BBL4-thanks for the offer on the trees. I just used up the bug repellant bar of soap and while it isn't much of a deterrent to bug, I really liked it and it smells amazing!

Cute Bunny!

Is it safe to come out today?

Here is a nice shot I took of it a couple years ago:

And here is the pic from the news after the storm:

The radio newscaster just said they upped the tornado count to 5. And not a single siren went off anywhere?? Nice.

Heather, if you cheer up I will post a new belly pic. Then I can be the comic relief for the day.

Oh......my.......... That is terrible. Our weather guy down here was predicting heavy storms with dangerous conditions up there that evening. But it was the late news (10pm). What a terrible thing.

Amy, I'm sending girlie vibes for your lil peanut too.

Somehow that just doesn't sound right, though.
