Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

My DH uses Brake Clean, just wait until night and spray away. It does not take much. Soak the hole, and drop a rock on the hole right away when you are done spraying and walk away. In about 10-15 min ALL the bees will be dead, even the Queen.

I forgot to post results of my detox diet. I went from 142lbs to 129lbs. I have more energy, mental clarity and the eczema on my hands has cleared up! I'm very happy. And I plan to keep grains, dairy and sugar out of my diet, forever. I officially signed up for the Rock and Roll half marathon in Vegas in November. So that just gives me more motivation to eat healthy and stay active.
Congrats..that is wonderful news..

Never had any ground nests survive water/dish soap mix. Mark the ground nest & pour the mix in when dark.
X2...
also find and old dried bees nest and place it right by the nest. The bees will leave.

wasp spray always has worked here, last year was the worst ever up north

get the big can that shoots like 20', the key is you have to wait until dark to spray, then they are all in that nest,,,, during the day you are wasting your time

good luck

x2

We tried soap and water on the last nest, they were still there the next day. Actually what we ended up doing on the last one where we could actually see the hole was put a shopvac out there with a long PVC extension at the opening to the hole and left it run all day. Sucked up like 500 yellow jackets and they haven't been back to that spot.

It's amazing. We soaked it with water. Soaked it with water and dawn. Soaked it with wasp spray. Covered the hole with a mound of Sevin dust. The yellow jackets just laughed at us.

So, yeah, this new nest is under a 6 foot tall pine tree, which means branches on the ground and mulch all around. You can see them go into the tree to get to their nest, but no way to spot the hole without digging around...which is really not something I plan to do. Hubby sent the push mower over by the hole with a big card of sticky stuff to catch them like a fly trap when they came out to swarm the mower, but there are plenty more. Ooo, did they not like that push mower, were all over that with a vengeance, which got a good 200 of them stuck.

This time they picked a good hidey spot, wish we could spot the hole.

Thank You Frenchie!!! Yes tomorrow will be the service, my sister went to the crematorium today, but I just could not do it. My parents were divorced so this means we have to clean and decide what to do with half a Kleenex box, opened pantry items etc., and many many expired canned goods! I have spent the last couple of days getting the picture collages ready, calling banks and insurance companies. Sad to say that the man did not leave a will on file with the county clerk, so I have an appt. with the Dane Country Probate office on Tuesday... Reminder to all a document unsigned and not notarized on your computer is not a will!!

TO, not sure what is up but one of the Cuckoos has developed a limp. Checked her and no bumble foot. Can't think of anything like a bad landing job, but do think it is the one we clipped, she tried to sleep in a low tree one night. Will keep an eye on her. They were picking on the little Olive Egger but now have accepted her. This week we will take down the temporary fence and let them all mingle and decide on a new world order... Having lost a previous one to Mercks in the Spring makes me so skeered!

Amy, Do I get a do over on the due date, since labor day has come and gone? New day and time: Sunday 9/8 11:05 pm must be a girl! Also shame on those IVF's complaining... would think they would be thankful for any pregnancy. I do know twins are lots of work, taking care of my grandnieces is a chore, but I think they call them a labor of love

Big Family has Tonto quieted down yet?

Ohhh and applesauce I still use that old time strainer and pestle... Sometimes I toss in some cinnamon red hot candies. Makes it a nice color and adds a nice cinnamon taste. How much is that one at FF? Looks like it takes a whole lot less elbow grease.

We would be up for a meet up at Clucks... we like to make an every other trip for feed there. Sometimes it is just nice to take a drive on Sunday or Saturday and pay a little extra for the cheese curds in town there.

Have a great weekend all enjoy the weather, just noticed on a drive that soybeans are starting to yellow, sigh!

oh there is something weird. I just looked up whileb typing and the font has changed and the phone isn't capitalizing.

applesauce-I cut apples into fourths, deseed and toss into a pot with cinnamon (or plain) and water, then boil down until mushy. taste and add sugar if needed.we like skin and texture so I don't process the apples at all.

Hello all! I finally got around to taking pics. We have 9 total, but I still need a pic of the RIR and Bantam Polish.

These are the Standard Polish chicks.

One of the Leghorns and the Cinnamon Queens.

This little one was trying to hide in the berries.

Take care and have a great weekend! You probably won't see much of me now that school has started. It's been crazy busy here!

Hi All!
Didn't pay the internet bill soon enough (was waiting for when I went to town Fri) and they cut me off..... AFTER I wrote yesterday's reply, but before I could post!

Vicki... nice dust bath area!
I don't remember what else I was going to respond too. Been busy!
Yesterday while I was closing up one of the BLRW I got from Delish got trapped under a cage and panicked. She was dead by the time I could get to her. So Sat. we are having very young BLRW for supper.

Figured no sense in wasting her. I was surprised, she dressed dressed out at 3 1/2 lbs. She was still getting allot of "big chicken" feathers, what a pain to pluck. Of course it was the one of the 3 with no comb or waddles to speak of. I suspect the other 2 may be roos

My special lady, my 15yr old cat that takes care of me when I sleep, has been missing for 6 days. She was a outside cat when we found her and was content inside most of the time, but she would get restless and go out for 2 or 3 days at a time. I think something happen to her.

Really hasn't been a good week.

CS: Poor Cody! I have to say, the only thing he broke for us was one pH probe, and it was just a fluke. I am the one who breaks everything....

Grrrr....... I really cannot wait until I no longer get up at 4:30 on Saturdays.......

Gotta fly..... enjoy the day everyone! French, jump in your pool!
