The naughty stray cat we took in has been attacking my ducks and chickens. I'm not sure what to do about that. I was hoping he would calm down when I got him neutered. I wish the rooster would get him good once. I was between that rooster and another he was trying to attack and he accidentaly got my leg. I can't imagine that a cat would come back for that again. It hurts!

Do you have a broody hen? Put the cat next to her. No way he'd go back after that! Lol

Amazing! Even his coat looks better it's only been something like a month, hasn't it? Did you get him neutered yet?not sure where you are located, but there is an awesome deal in omro for alteration and shots!

Vicki, if the cat is attacking your birds (& neighbors) I agree. I allow one of my cats to roam. The neighbors know she is mine. And that if there is ever a poblem to please lmk right away. She also wears her rabies tag and a bell on a break away collar at all times. She never goes for our birds. Even day old chicks. So I am confidant she is not reeking havoc on the neighbors

Yes, I think its been a little over a month. I had him neutered a couple of weeks ago. He also was wormed, had his shots and Advantage II for flea control. He gets a grain free food (either Evo or Canidae). He knows he found a good thing. He doesn't even leave the yard anymore. I think I'll have to keep him in the garage this winter. If my daughter has her way he'll be inside. She's been sneaking him in lately. But I can't handle the two I have inside already. One ruins everything with her claws and the other still pees on things and leaves poop streaks on my carpet Outside cats are the way to go for sure.

You're A good kitty mom Cuties and a good neighbor. I feel the same way. If any of my animals are causing a problem for my neighbors I want to know NOW so I can do something about it. When I talked to this lady about her cat, she didn't even stop this muddy dog from jumping on me let alone offer an apology or a solution. It wasn't until I said I can't allow this that she said "I guess I'll try to keep it in the house". Sigh.

As for behavior, sounds like I won the lottery. My little rescue is a perfect lady. The only thing I can't do is forget and leave the butter out or I'll find kitty tongue marks in it in the morning. She did come declawed tho. That's something I wouldn't do but it is nice.

All I know is our cats though they might like to have a gosling for lunch. Once. They came home severely beaten up by the parent geese.

I have never heard of cats killing full grown standard sized chickens if there is another option available ( I can see a feral cat giving a go but why bother with all the other available and easier to catch prey?)..... it seems like too much work with all of the easily available mice, birds, rabbits etc in the woods.... and traveling 1/2 a mile to chomp down chickens? A little far fetched IMHO....... I would want concrete proof of the cat actually killing a chicken. It could have been so many other preds that we know kill chickens easily and readily.

I am not trying to be difficult, but instead of just dropping blame on the cat, other options should be considered without concrete proof. Catching the cat eating chicken remains is not proof either......

Picked up the new tank: it is awesome!!!! One issue, the top brace/frame is cracked, so I had to drain 10 gal out so the top would not bow too much from the pressure of all that water. I also found an online store to replace the frame so we are good to go! Wish I could afford to do a SW setup...... this tank is perfect for it.
