Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Morning all! WICch...I bet the nurse brought something in with her! That, or if the kids you were sitting for go to school...bad stuff! I sure hope you get better soon--hate to hear of a fellow horsewoman down.

Ya know what that means DrH? You homeowner's will be going up! Especially if you dont have a fancy new airtight stove. We got the new estimate for out chimney repair...6 Grand! Not going to happen--we just dont have that kind of money! I thought the first estimate was high... that was before the guy found out that we have the oil furnace and the HW heater on that chimney too. Dh says he and a buddy are going to do it...now I am really nervous. DH is afraid of heights and the guy that is helping is a diabetic, on insulin and drinks like a fish! Anyone know of folks that have experience installing chimney liners?

OOPS--after 9 already! I have to go and pick up my hay! Talk to ya later! Terri O

TO actually AM. Fam. doesn't charge extra for a wood stove as long as your legal. My agent applauded me for the installation. Went above and beyond when I installed it. Guess I would rather have it flood out than burn down, boy am I stupid. We talked about flood insurance too $67/month for dwelling and belongings, cheapest I've ever heard of. Never priced out with any other insurance but have everything under them. Had over $10,000 damage from a hail storm a few years back and never got any grief as well as a deer collision. They've been great! I do know about the running of more than one thing into the same chimney, they frown upon it. Called FEMA this morning turns out that their only covering public damage not individual. So were screwed. There's that look of surprise on my face again! Think my plans for the day got changed to drinking beer and formulating a new plan of attack. Not that that hasn't already happened but I think it needs refinement.

Evening all! Hope your feeling better WiWc . That crud is goin around here too had it all week but its gota suck with your shoulder on top of it.
Got a question to throw out there my coop is 4x8 and I have a steep roof so I put a second floor in the {attic}4x4 and my nesting boxes are not counted in that space. I have 13 chickens 2 are bantys so I figure that's 48 sq ft I should be ok as far as 4 sq ft per bird . But they all roost on that 4x4 area I figure cuz its warmer but they don't use the roosting boxes or extra roosts at all . Guess you can't train a chicken to do what it doesn't wana.

Special Evening For Me All....On my Knees in the woods Thanking the Creator for a nice 8 point whitetail that weighed 158 lbs dressed. I was lucky, (prolly thanks to you doc) for a perfect heart shot and no trailing needed. I'm really happy that I will have venzun for winter. We waste nothing here on the hill...while we don't care for the liver, it will be fryed and fed to the flock. Excellent protein for them, good feeling that it wasen't wasted in the woods.....and good eggs from the great feed.
I have to say Doc that FEMA just plain sucks...it just ain't right....I don't care, It just ain't right....

I'm sure you are twice as mad as me...you have a right to be....what the hell?
Jim still has 21 pullets left....He's done real good trading.
cd, good luck with the flock...when it comes to spacing, I'm a fan of more is better. If the flock is totally locked up without a outside run, then 10sq ft is preferred. If they have a outside run then 4 sq ft will be ok.

Good Morning Everyone! Bigzio Glad to hear that you added a fine specimen to your larder! It was all you man! Nice shot! The only thing that bothers me about Fema is being bounced around. Help is on the way, no it's not. Help is on the way, no it's not. Both L and I have been through a lot of lows and always pulled ourselves back up this is but just one more time. We'll survive! It was however kinda depressing. The not knowing was the worst, now I can move on. It only took 3 beers to realize I had to quit feeling sorry for myself and get on with it. cd Agree with Bigz on the space. Like I think I said when you first started the coop won't be big enough, it never is!

Enjoy your day fine people!

What a great morning! I got a couple of small trees cut up and all but 6 blocks of oak split. They were too big to lift and didn't have a plank out back to roll them up on the splitter. Got everything set up and it started to snow then went to sleet then to intermitant rain. Not enought to get too wet. By the time I got the wood in the shed it was raining a little harder seemed like a good time to take a break. While I was unloading the trailer I heard some squacking in the coop. Someone had managed to open the small wire gate that seperates Pea and Btwo from the rest and were being picked on by one of the hens. On my way out there Buster went in there and was trying to rein in the hen. What a good boy! Got 3 eggs yesterday and 2 so far today. No more poult eggs yet. I cut the big kids loose for 2 days and the eggs dissapeared so now they are in jail till after 2 in the afternoon. Have one hen that lays between 1 and 2. Just hate to jail them while there's still good things to eat in the yard. Felt good to be back in the woods tossing a saw around! With this cold front coming in think tomorrow morning will be a good time to empty the remaining freezer and defrost and organize it. Hopefully will be able to get a replacement freezer next month. Going to get set up this aft for a trip into the dungeon to remove the nonworking sump and move the working one into it's spot and replace the leaky fuel oil line so we can have the furnace as back up again. And then......

Hey everyone nice fall day today! Congrats on the buck Bigzio good shootin you gota love the no tracking part.
