Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Speaking of extra cockerels. I have a beautiful SQ potential young Black English Orpington if anyone is looking. He has good comb points, good feathering, tight wings with proper hold. Perfect keel and good toes. Good green sheen. His dad was BB BV at the last show.

Good call viki! I forgot to mention that about the moms if the male is kept close!
I am hoping I already have a good sq roo from you. Only time will tell!
Momgill. We have all mini rex, except two :) I love all the girls together. I go in the pen and just cuddle them! They usually dislike that lol. But like the treats. The boys in the otherhand love the cuddles. They are the softest bunnies ever!

Just got done dropping off the new jeep for repairs. The guy is so cool. No issues with fix a part, get payed and wait to another payday to fix another part :) work at 5am again tomorrow. Not liming Saturday's lately.

Cluck tomorrow : oldest son has karate @ 10:30 so we'll either be there before 10 or after 11. I hope to meet up with someone! :)
I have A few guestions! so I'm getting eggs from two of my 6 girls so far, but I know that they will stop laying in winter due to lack of light. Will all my girls lay before winter? When do they usually stop and how can I override this with supplemental lighting? Is it a pain to do?
:) please and thank you!!
I'd love to adopt more chickens /roos, but I can't get my flock to agree with me! :(

Favorite treat the bunnies loved was pineapple, go figure....

If I were closer I would definitely be interested! I don't have an orpington rooster at the moment.

Hi All!

Huntress.... hope you get those cyotes away from your flock .... one way or another!

Deli....Interesting batch of chicks you got there. Too bad about the chicks.

Irish.... I've donated to Heifer, helped buy some chickens. You could also buy a goat or other livestock depending on how much you could help. Nice idea.

Amyb.... How and when they lay also depends allot on what breed. Some breed lay all winter, some slow down but still put out a few a week. Not many stop all together, but some do. Remember too, chickens have just so many eggs to lay. If your increasing light to make them lay more in winter, it will shorten the years they lay. You can compromise and just add an hour or 2 in the morning and still get a few ore eggs without burning them out. If you butcher your spent hens and need the eggs over winter then add even more light.

Have fun to those meeting up Sat.!!

Well, when I went to see Neil they had him dressed and sitting in a wheelchair, it sounded like they take him to a dining room for meals. Hope to talk to his therapist to see how things are going but I missed him today. Monday someone will get hold of me to see about what we can get to help him and us here.
Chickens seem to be fine.... Night All!

Mine also love the pineapple! Did you know it is also really good for them? Lots of bunnies have problems with hairballs. They do not vomit them lime cats. And can die! The pineapple rine is coarse and grabs hair on the way through

I do some artifical light. Hubby hooked up a timer, and we do a little in the am and, evening. I realise they have just so many eggs. Idk why he still does it. We will not butcher ours when they are done laying. They will just become freeloaders lol

Cind, I am glad neil is doing well. And you are getting that call on monday!
