Bbl4 good for you on the rescue! Let us know how it goes!

Terri, yes.what kind of puppies? ! I am sure syd and Blake will be very happy to help socialise!

WTH ??? we get a few inches of snow and everybody goes into hybernation ??

I just spent some time looking up things on the web.. I planted carrots with a paper strip this year and had great success.. but those tapes are expensive,, I got a few good ideas on how to make my own planting tapes .. I am going to do it; at least with carrots..

toilet paper is what some of the people recommended.. you are still forced to handle the tiny seeds ,, I am going to dig into this further and find a good way to handle the seeds..

I found a syringe type of planter that looked interesting.. and Jung has a thing like a turkey baster that might work ..

Cuties, socialize the puppies ?? that is Terri's way of getting your kids to fall in love with a puppy and then it is yours ..

I better get out there and feed the birds.. I am gradually feeding them later each day until I can do it at late afternoon..

........jiminwisc.........

Haha jim, you know I do not mind. Whats one more... lol it is scott Terri would need to convince. And he has absolutely no problem being the bad guy ;-)
So lisa, what do you say? Making the trip with melissa?

I suggest using the tape for radishes too,,, maybe it would eliminate all that thinning that I never do untill it is too late!

Quote: a couple of them said to alternate radishes with carrots. I tried that without the tape once or twice.. I didn't care for it .. I like the idea of each thing in it's own row.. I never got around to pulling out all of the radishes.. you know how it is in the summer, something else is always more important to do.....

yes Terri...what kind of puppies...and yes I know that my hubby woudl shoot me for even asking that question. I am not sane...that just reminds me of it.

Seed tapes - we made those for my aunt way back when. She would buy the unsold packets of seeds, then when we were bored she would take out the supplies and we would make seed tapes for her for spring planting. I think we did that at Easer when we all gathered for the holiday. I believe she used paper towels and cut the roll into 1" wide rolls. She gave each of us kids a roll, a seed packet, a tape measure (from her sewing basket), a tweasers (for tiny seeds) and a bowl of flour and water paste. A dab of paste on the paper towel at the planting interval and a seed stuck into it. She let them dry, then rolled them up and put them in labeled baggies and stored them in the basement (cold but not freezing) until spring planting.

that's about it in a nut shell.. the only difference I might add is the strips are 2 inches wide.. then they are folded over.. this prevents the seeds from getting rubbed off in the shuffle ..
I would take this one step further and put a few drops of glue along the folded edges to keep them folded..

one person stored the seeds in a plastic zip lok bag in the bottom drawer of her refrigerator.. another person stored them in covered plastic containers like cottage cheese comes in, or any similar container.. main thing is to keep them cool and dry ..

one man just made them up and took them to the garden immediately.. this was done in the spring at planting time..

Great news! The behaviorist LOVES Dexter! She was flabbergasted that they owners would want to put him to sleep, he needs his socialization manners worked on and we are to try to train him not to growl when he is getting petted. No more toys either since he growls with them as well. The rescue is really happy to get him and will find him a great home.

Now I get to go to the Vet's office and give them a nice ***** chewing.

Cuties, it all depends on the rescue. I have told them I would be happy to drive him to meet with another pick-up person, but I have no idea when or where that could be. I am hoping this weekend since I am completely booked the following week with Thanksgiving stuff.
