Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good morning! Now THAT is a newborn! Congrats Stacy! (I sure wish I had grandbabies....)
I cannot believe this SNOW! We were supposed to get a dusting...2" at least on the driveway and I have to go to the mill. (what am I doing on here?) I was supposed to pick up feed this weekend but it just didnt work out at all! Now I am down to the wire.

No puppies yet! She is still eating....I did some searching and found the breed Yellow Black Mouth Cur that originated in...ALABAMA! (where she is from) I think she may be a cross of that type. Looking at the Ridgeback photos led me to that Cur site. We will see how she is once the pups are born.

Gotta run--Have a great day! TerriO

Congrats on your first grandchild, Staci!

BL4- I have an attachment for my kitchen-aide mixer that grinds meat/food, and works OK in a pinch. It was much less than a sepparete grinder and is powered by the bulletproof mixer.

Hens and roos, I have my own project going here. When I was young, I saw a tri broken mini rex at the fair. I have always wanted one! I have found many breeders that have the ones that look orange. I want brown and black. I looked for a few years. And hubby finally said, why dont you try to make one. I h ave no idea what I am doing. But actually am getting close!! The last litter has one with brown spots. And black ears/butterfly.

Those are cute! Good luck with your project.

I have been using vacumn sealers for a long time. My first was a FoodSaver brand - it was something Pro. It had two vacumn pumps so it worked fast and got all the air out. I went through 2 sets of foam seals on that baby before I wore out the vacumn pumps - it took me 8 years of berry picking and venison to wear it out. Trying to replace it, all the salespeople who seemed to know what they were talking about said since I was used to the dual vacumn one, I would never be happy with the regular ones. I finally broke down and bought a regular Foodsaver one and I was not happy with it at all. lol! I still use it for everyday kitchen stuff, but for stuff that is going to be around for a while I went out and bought the Cabellas Vacumn Sealer with the 15" seal. That puppy works as good as my original one did. The seal on it is about twice as wide as the one on the new FoodSaver machine - I don't think I had any seals that weren't good, except for the ones that got gunk in the area of the seal. This Cabelas one is a bit harder to use as you have to watch that it doesn't suck the juices into the seal area.
I believe the quality of the rolls of bag material has decreased over the years - the last rolls I bought from Sam's club (Foodsaver brand) I had a hard time with. I have been buying the roll from Cabelas, they are nice and thick, but you gotta watch out for creases in the bags - they leak if the seal goes over a crease.

kind of small...might not get too much!
