Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

this is my impression of a polar bear ,,

drink fast, because when I stand up,, you guys are finished ..

our eyes are open, only we are sooo sleepy we can't keep them open long enough for a picture..

Wow its quiet on here tonight,,, so I ve got a question,, I remember reading on here a long while ago about easter eggers,,,, My daughter has an E.Egger that lays pink eggs.. How do keep that color in our next generation of hens? She does not have a rooster to match, so what is the best way to keep that awsome color? any thoughts thanks Zeke Good morning to you all
Hello,,,,,,, anybody? a little help here... jim,,,dilslesic chicken good one,,,,,,,,,,,,bigfam nice to see your still outthere.. del,, I ll get some eggs when it warms up O K?

Zeke, I think it would be very difficult to keep an EE based breeding line in order to keep with the pink eggs. The EE's are mutts from what I understand.

There are more knowledgeable people on here who can advise you on this.

Zeke, white and blue are the only "colors" of eggs, everything else is a tint (yup even brown, check the inside for the actual color)

you might be able to keep that pink tint breeding the EE with a white egg line male

not sure how these genetics would play out,,that's my best guess

you can check out the easter egger threads,,,post the question over there

Jim thanks for the updated puppy pics

I will try to get some action pictures of them with their eyes open .. when something bothers them, they sure know how to be vocal about it.. getting separated from the pack is the most common complaint ..

I believe that. Being away from your 9 siblings is probably cooooold when you're a lil puppy. Cute pics!

Sorry Zeke. I had no answer for ya.

Cind, my birds are drinking a lot more water too, and eating like crazy. At least the egg production went up a little. I had a pale egg too that was darker on the inside. It had a hairline crack in it from freezing.

I'll take low 70s all summer, partly cloudy in the AM & scattered soft showers overnight, thank you.

Not much new here. Sweet dreams, all.

Hi All!

CC... I think I like your summer, on nights it doesn't rain lets get the temp around 65.

I think the young turkey is going to be a tom... looks like he's starting to get a tuft.

Guess that's it.... Night All!

good morning, Dora woke me at 4 AM to go outside.. once I wake up, I am up..

I looked up (how much milk does a dog produce in a day) ?..

I didn't get a real defined answer, but I did find that a puppy, from day one to four weeks eats 10% to 14% of it's body weight each day..

so if 8 puppies weigh 2 pounds each, that is 16 pounds.. 10% of 16 pounds is 1.6 pounds..
that is about 3 cups per day..

no wonder Dora drinks so much water and pees so much , eh ?
her puppies are about 4 pounds each..
so she must be making 6 cups per day.. and it is going up each day..

Good morning! Cute puppies Jim! Gosh I sure wish I still had some here...makes me so sad. Took Pearl in to get spayed yesterday, along with those two cat sisters. Turns out she has heartworm. We are beginning the treatment. Anybody have experience with this?

Zeke, your question must have been in the bunch that I missed over the weekend. I agree with Dan--head on over to their thread--I am sure someone has already done the experiments! Then you can save yourself some time. I have a hen that lays a nearly purple egg! It looks so cool when next to a brown one.

Tommy the house roo seems to be under the weather lately. he still eats and crows but his breathing is raspy at times. I have no idea how to treat him. Doesnt appear that he has any discharge at all. Poor guy...wish I had a chicken vet, I'd take him!

Guess I better head outside...dogs are all sleeping so all -----will break loose once I stand up--stupid dogs!
