Glad the cats are better than expected.

Snow snow go away!
Don't come back 'till Christmas day!

Got a pot of potato soup started for Wed. supper.... might split it and throw some oysters in it for Neil and me. Paul can't eat them, I can throw some fish in his or he can have a sandwich to go with. Soup aways is better when it sets a day.

glad you have some hatching cuties....

I think one of my chicks has failure to thrive. it is dropping its wings, sitting alot and is now noticeably smaller than the other two.

Sorry to hear :-( I did a hatch for a friend. They are hatching now. They are mixed. But if you are I terested, I threw a couple extra I just I case. If I have extras, you are welcome to them. I will be at terris this Saturday. And believe that is closer to ypu than me.

Jim, TerriO asked me what type of mix Georgie is? Part African and...???

I do not have a Boy George and I'm fine with that. ;-)
I do not know which goose laid the egg.. she might even have some buff in her.
I am leaning more to the African x African Toulouse mix. I say Toulouse because none of my geese have (had) that shrill honk like the Africans do.. I just hauled 9 of them to the processor a couple of weeks ago.. I have only one pair of greys and a trio of Sebastopols. I am trying to sell the Sebs for $200.oo for the trio..

CC the cats are both 16 1/2. The vet did not recommend any treatment yet other than reducing their protein intake. Their bloodwork is showing they are in the very early stages so I am hoping we can keep them healthy with diet changes.

BigZ, the Wild Game dinner is at St. Peter's church in Marion, I believe the tickets are $12/each. Doors open at 5, dinner starts at 6.

Georgie is the sweetest goose you will ever meet. Boy George need not apply (although a gaggle of geese to chase the dog might not be a bad idea.....)

I want those Sebs so badly............ (sigh)

Coffee time!

Quote: this question coming from someone who even names the field mice around her place ??

I told Heather about the lone goose we had back in the day when I was a kid .. his name was George.. Met his demise under the wheels of the milk truck .. IDK how old he was, but all I can remember is that he was just always there..

I know Jim. You don't want me busting your rep of being the crunchy old guy who knows animals aren't always pets. I just had to point out to CC that sometimes you can surprise people. ;)

Yeah well,, do you have any idea of how much that set my image back ? It will take some time to regain my status,,
just a FYI , in my defense .... I did not name the goose.. It was named by somebody else.. I think they called it George after a well to do farmer from down the road.. just maybe to get his goat a little ??

I talked Annie into taking me out for breakfast,, going to the Log Cabin in Schofield ..
the bakery outlet is close to there, so we will pick up a bag of bread for the birds..

then to Fleet to buy a tarp for a wind break in the lean to.. and then home to stack bales and set up the chick brooder for heat for the puppies..

have to be done with all of this by 4PM when Annie has to leave for work..

.......jiminwisc..........
