good morning again,, I went out and took a few pictures of the geese.. as long as I have them I might as well share them..
..
the big gray is Baby Huey . he got that name because he was HUGE when he hatched..
his mate is to the left in the picture.. no name..
she is beginning to drag straw and making a nest so eggs won't be
far behind..

hmmmm, my lights just flashed 3 times.. I hope it was the lights..

good morning,, I have to get outside early and take a picture of the sebastopol geese,, I had a reply in just a couple of hours after I put them on craigslist..
so naturally he wanted pictures, and naturally I don't know where I have them stored, so I will take new ones ..

I should go through and eliminate a ton of pictures..

rather than putting them into folders, you should be able to alphabetize them ..

the guy who emailed about the geese is from Ladysmith.. he has the same last name as some of my mother's cousins.. there has to be a connection, because it is not a real common name..
My mother's aunt walked from Illinois to Three Lakes at around the turn of the century, (1902)
Paddock was her name..

cuppa is just about gone,, and it should be light enough to let the birds loose..
I saw a cottontail rabbit in the driveway this morning.. Puppy must be asleep or he would have been chasing it.. he chases red squirrels,, no contest ..

Paddocks are mainly from Bruce, and one in particular is a bird hoarder. Wonder if he's the one looking.

Good morning all!
Man, ducks are so messy! I can't wait for hubby to get their own shed and pond built. He says as soon as the ground thaws. I think it will be a bit longer. As he is super busy at work. And doing more running with the kiddos with me working so late :/
We have our 4-h meeting tonight. And it is Sydneys turn for a demo! She is doing it on blue laced red wyandotte. She is very nervous. I hope she is able to talk

this is the V-trough I made for holding the strips of paper for seed tapes..

that is a 2 inch wide piece of paper towel nestled in the V-trough..

this is the V-trough flipped upside down to show the "foot" it stands on.
I am thinking of a way to use that foot to measure the 2 inch strips of paper for cutting..

I am going to make short pieces of tape.. 2 feet to 2 1/2 feet long for ease of handling when setting them into the furrows in the garden..

Syd, not able to talk ? are we thinking of the same Syd ?
just tell her that all of the people she is talking to do not know as much as she does, so she is teaching them.. that will give her a bit of superiority and make it easier to talk to them..

This Paddock is Ed.. He is from that area .. He raises pheasants ..
and hopefully, Sebastopols ..

Morning all!
Didn't get to bed til 4.30 this morning and everyone was still okay. Let them out this morning (the ducks and chickens that is) and they're happy in the sunshine.

Trap is set and still empty. Maybe the gunshots scared the bobcat away for the night. Will have to see how tonight goes.

Otherwise just enjoying the morning and not much going on here. Don't live too far away from ladysmith but don't know many people from there. And a horder? Might not be a good idea to sell him some of your geese Jim!
Oh, and I do not recommend selling ANYTHING to Edgewood Acres in Winter. They bought a bunch of our white pheasants late last year and about a month later a friend, who went there to pick up chicks, reported that none of our pheasants are still alive. Plus, we saw them sell boxes with dead chickens in it last year at the poultry swap in Ladysmith. So please beware of them!!!

Haha Sydney is like her dad she can quickly overtake a conversation. But once put up in front of a bunch of people, she clams. I will try that. Because she always likes to be smarter than her brother. And that might just work
I would commment on the seed tapes. But gardening is just not my thing. The times we tried, there was a bad drought. And then we mostly grew weeds. I am ok with floweres tho. But not house plants. I forget about that whole watering them thing!

Yep Ed is who I was referring to. I didn't mean a hoarder in a bad way, should of said bird lover. He has a wide variety of birds.
