Alright Jim here is my story for the evening.
I let Gracie (the terrier runaway) out for the evening to do her business before going to bed. While I waited, I went down the stairs to give Theo some hugs. I called to Gracie, no response. So I thought she was in the doghouse eating his food. I went back in the house to get my shoes and went outside again (there is no way I'm stepping in who knows what). I walked up to the doghouse, no Gracie. I look over at the gate, it is wide open. "Oh crap!" I thought and went into the back yard. I called for her, no response, and I noticed the gate to the rest of the yard was open. "Ugh, she ran away again" I said. I went over to the gate and into the driveway calling for her with no Gracie returning. So I decided to lock up the gate (which DS had left open when he walked Theo around the yard-Good thing Theo stayed home) to the driveway and had begun closing the gate from the side yard where Theo is with the chickens, when he started barking. It really caught me off guard as he doesn't bark. He charged through the gate and to the one by the driveway. Now for a moment I got scared a bit, but then he stopped and I heard Gracie's tags jingle from the collar. He heard her and did a great job letting me know. I hope I get this quick of a turn around each time she runs away! I love this boy!
