Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi all! I creep,on here a lot but too tired to,post. Trying to get my work schedule closer to what it was in my last job. Going to try working from home on Friday.

Chickens are slowing down their laying. Still have the one with the naked neck. It has been six months and as Connie had said... Looked for mites and saw nothing, but still treats with seven dust. Tried worming her...nothing...now the silly bcm is broody, naked neck area and all. Sigh...

My question for the night, I know, that pumpkins are a natural wormer for the chcikens... My girls are a little spoiled and prefer them a little softened so I stick in oven for a half hour or so. Does that ruin the worming abilities of those, seeds?

I doubt the seeds get very hot in that amount of time..
however, I don't know if heat would have any affect ..

all I would do is shorten up the time in the oven so that the seeds do not get hot,, OR, take the seeds out before you bake the pumpkin ,,

good packer sunday,
went to Marathon for breakfast, that cafe was not open,, then I drove from there to Wausau to Emma Crumbies, couldn't find a parking space.. so I drove farther on to Dunkin Donuts and tried one of their spicy hot sausage breakfast egg McMuffin,, It was OK,, but the spices made the coffee taste a little "off"..

came home , fed the critters..

the neighbor just 1 mile south of us has been picking up a 6-pac of wolves on his trail cam,,
could it be that those wolves got ahold of Dora and did her in,??
could happen..

I sat outside while the dogs ate.. really like these dry autumn days..
why do the Pack have to play day games when the weather is nice like this ?

Is there anybody left out there ? It seems like I am talking to myself a lot lately ..

It is a possibility that the wolves took Dora down :( I think wolves are a needed part of the ecosystem and I don't like when people talk bad about them. But I sure wouldn't leave my dog run loose if I knew they were around and I'd be scared to have my horses or any other animal they could prey on. I hope that's not what happened to her. What a terrible way to go.

I didn't find out about the wolves until just yesterday.. anyhow, my dogs are bred to combat wolves, so what is the use of having them tied up and letting the wolves get my birds ?
If they got Dora, so be it.. I did not bad mouth the wolves, what ever gave you that idea ?
I only mentioned them because that is what I learned ..

Afternoon

, had a weekend of soccer games with the kids...both boys played 3 games each and DS(12)'s team played in the championship game- they ended with 2nd place not bad at all. DD had 1 soccer game and marched in a parade today in Jefferson and then had job training for working at Schuster's Playtime Farm for the fall season.

Trying to get caught up with laundry and cutting grass today

Wilds am I have magpies, rouens, runners, muscovey and black Cayuga (sp). And now a mix of them all !
Nice looking dog. Is Us a Maremma too?
My led are tied but it is for their own safety. The nature of the breed is to guard but they also roam, dig and bark. 5 he barking is mostly at night when you would want them to anyway! Knock on wood but my pot belly pigs, goats, ducks, geese and most chickens free range. The ducks and geese stay very close to the male Great Pyrenees. They eat out of his dish and they along with the goats go in his house.my female River is another story. She's killed plenty. She like to play with them. She loves the goats.
Where I live a loose dog will have a short lifespan. Nuf said... the neighbors dog 2 as hit by a car by another neighbor that knew the dog runs after cars...
So with that said I love my dogs more then my fowl so if I lose one to a predator sad but better then loosing a dog which is family to me.

Cind the pm I sent you was about the US Madison taking baby monkeys away from their mothers at a day old and stressing them with snakes etc. Killing them by 2 yrs old and then dissecting their brains. Im having Fb problems sharing but it should be on my page stating that I signed the petition. Just my personal opinion but I think it is ludicrous and animal abuse. Just saying
Well that's it for now. Oh got my player piano yesterday. Think I need to check the bellows. Everything seems to work (has electric and pedals)
But no music. Crappy part is there is name on it. Previous owner said the one before them refinished it and probably took the name off. I 5h Think I found the serial number but no luck finding the maker.
Going 50 go steam some apples and freeze some juice. Going to try making the apple pie shots with them.
Anyone have good advice for making chunky low sugar applesauce or dehydrating apples (for future use in horse snacks.
Thanks in advance
