What a bad loss for the Pack...they lost more than just a game this time around!

Hope it was not catch and release Stacy....yep the rats can go un-noticed for quite a while....once you find out, there is more than one. I'm still working on them here. Good luck with catching the major killers yet.

Nice to see the snow melting. maybe I can catch up on a few projects that never were finished or started for that matter.

Nice Winter day again. I sure hope this nice winter weather keeps going and going....

I'll have to check their weight Vicki....but I know for sure that they are less than the standard 9lb for cocks....prolly my oldest roo is 9, but my young roo is less I'm thinkin.....I'll let you know what I come up with....3rd at the nationals is worth working on size for sure...you did good!

Snow slid off the roof today...dang that is a lot of snow to remove from the overhead garage door.
Heavy snow for sure.

Enjoy this mild weather while we have it here.

The fish are biting on the local pond, prolly time to collect some gills.

Do you sell eggs?

Once again bad luck has stricken me.. Something I'm assuming a weasel or mink killed nearly all my birds lastnight. One coop had 2 chickens and a ducks head pulled thru the underneath of the coop on the outside. The other coop had 2 pulled thru a hole i forgot to cover behind the cabinet. All damage is to heads and necks although no heads ripped off, just chewed apart. Sorry for graphic photo, maybe someone else might know what did this? I'm heading to town to get some live traps to try and catch w/e it was that killed them. And may be sleeping with a gun in the coop tonight if I can't find a security camera to borrow. Lost all my SS, WW, SFH, Light Brahmas, One SS F1, Female Blue Sweded duck and 2 BLRW pullets(total of 14). When is enough enough and you just throw in the towel and give up..geez.

All I have are Orpingtons. and Buckeyes, .if you are interested I will help resupply you in birds..just pay for shipping and I can send you a few batches in the spring.
Boo hiss, pack lost

Sorry to hear of the critter losses.

Cleaned the coop today and attempted to get Theo's last stich out, but he keeps kicking me in the head. Training and rehab are going well, but still limping.

Hens are starting to pick up their laying. I'm trying to decide whether to kill off a few of the older ones or keep them around for hatching and kill off 2 young ones that I don't like and pick on others.

Del-congrats on Cookies kill!
If they are Orpingtons ..I will take what you want to get rid of. I have Buckeyes and can give you pullets next spring.

Nice weather for weighing birds?

afternoon all,

I have an announcement to make..
I got a phone call from Zeke's (Rick) daughter just a few minutes ago..
she asked me to forward this on to the cheese heads..

Zeke met with an accident last weekend.. It was fatal..

He was helping a friend smoke some meat..

apparently the pilot light went out on the gas burner,, they didn't realize that a lot of gas leaked out and Zeke tried lighting it.. the whole building blew up..

many of us knew Zeke as a dear friend,, those of you who didn't meet him missed out on as he would describe it : "a good deal " ..
