Chicks are hatching away!
I have the ones from January out in the coop and free range. One little male is veru bold and goes all over all alone. I am afraid the poor guy will be taken by the hawk

im so egggsited for you...my chicks started to hatch right now...at about 10pm sunday....cant wait to see how many we get

Introducing myself...

Just starting with chickens! We live in New Glarus - starting to get everything lined up to apply for our village chicken license and then get our chickens.

It's snowing like CRAZY today. Ugh.

It is 5x7 : ) Same square footage either way. $300 really isn't bad considering the skids it is on and all the lumber up to this point were reclaimed from pallets and such. Here is the progress made today on the new bottom portion.

if you youtube hoop coops...you can build them for about 200-300 and they are 10x10...just thought i would thro that out there....im building one as we speak...im going to be close to 300 maybe more cause im doing more to it then just the normal hoop coop

well hope everyones weekend went well...been staying busy...and been staying quite on byc for the moment...as you can see i havnt been on for a while...but been posting pretty much everyday in the building paradise for birds...ordered some shirts as well

new cinnamon goldens hens from nebraska and one out of the two males from michigan

just picked up the males today

shirts should be here before april 8th



got a bunch so if you see this shirt at any bird swaps/meet ups..you know who it is....lol....got the family all one...id say i am the short one...but we are all short....hahaha

Yes not too much action here. I was just talking to cuties and we are meeting up at the Jeferson swap on Saturday. Then their gang is hopefully coming to see the puppies!
I just got my new foster tonight...here he is!

He is just up from Alabama and very tired tonite. He doesnt care for the chilly weather for sure! I took a video of him dreaming--it was cute! I dont know his story yet, hopefully someone will answer my query. I believe he is 2 years old..

Greetings, WI. Moved here from East Coast almost three years ago. Finishing up first winter with chickens. Just discovered this part of the forums. I've traveled the country and a lot of the world, but I'm glad to call N.WI home now. Funny too. Years ago in my 'day' if someone told me I'd be here I'd have died laughing, and gleefully informed them of their lack of sanity. now I wonder what took me so long, despite knowing the answer.

So glad to be here. Hope the coming weeks and months treat you all gently. <3

My hens do those tricks too. I think it's a game they play to mess with us. Sometimes all the eggs are in one box. They're lined up there like O'Hare international waiting for a turn.

Yes Frenchie, Light Brahma. I habe Bigz to thank for helping us find these beautiful babies. Kiddos got blue on both last fall. We have some young pullets in that pen. Not closemto lay. But had to do some rearranging due to so many grow ojts in the mIn coop
