Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

The Beer Bread my son made yesterday turned out great. Made some fried egg sandwiches for supper last night after I went out and got some bacon from the butcher for them. One of my favorites! Whole wheat toast, buttered, fried egg, slice of cheddar cheese, and about 3 slices of bacon. The whole family devours them.

Sprayed my roosters comb with the Blue Kote I picked up at F&F yesterday. I'll see if it gets better now.

He better heal up quick,I leave early Wed. morning to San Diego to watch my 18 YO graduate from USMC bootcamp. My older son should meet us there as he is stationed at USMC Camp Pendelton in Oceanside CA. He gets out next year. One coming-one going!

Your tester should know how to obtain this information.
I would be questioning the qualifications of the tester at this point ..

Every flock in the state is suppose to be registered....just like a car. It's not the tester's responsibility to make sure your flock is registered...just like it's not your auto mechanic's responsibility. All the testers do is draw blood to check for certain diseases.

Hello! I've been away from BYC for a long time, and took a break from chicken for a while.

So when I was looking up the codes and zoning for livestock when we moved a few years ago there was no mention of premise registration- apparently it's mandatory. Are there any other testing that is required for a hobby farm flock ( or sheep even?). I know we are not required to obtain licenses, but now I am curious if there are other things I was not informed of.

The testing isn't required...only the premise registration is. If you want to show your birds and take them off your property, then that's when they need to be tested.

Plenty cold again today,eh!

Thanks! I did some deeper digging- found a minor hiccup with the sheepies- but otherwise okay with the chickens as long as I register the premise.

Yeah the cold is aggravating- but it's winter in Wisconsin- to be expected from time to time.
