Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I dislike the registration as much as you do but I'm getting too old to hold a sit-in over it.
I guess 60 is the new 20?? Woohoo!
Well, if nothing else, we livened up this old website a bit , eh?

Emailed someone local from Craigslist about some Olive egger chicks and black copper Marans chicks. The bcm's are 7 dollars each straight run and the sex Olive eggers are.......drumroll please $20 each! Holy %€*¥. I can get p.o.l. Pullets for that

For those of you who have Ducks, thinking about getting some next summer. What kind is the best? What do I need to care for them? Can they be housed with Chickens? Do they need a special food? Tell me what you know.

What???? Register my chickens? Never heard of such a stupid thing unless you are a big operation. My 17 hens are not registered and will not be. Hellsbells!!!

Firstchic you can house the ducks with chickens.... but they like to carry food to the waterer and make duck soup. Least mine always did. And they cant stop talking while they eat. Food everywhere.

But I miss having them. So this yr were going to build a sm duck run and coup. For 2 sets

I'm getting the flock tested next week and the tester wants to know my premise ID.  Do any of you have one?  Who issues them?  Any info would be appreciated.
You should be able to register online. Sorry I posted before I finished watching up. I am a state tester and have my Premise ID for the past 8 years when a woman was going door to door having everyone register with any type of livestock. I don't like the idea of it all either but in order for me to attend swaps to sell chicks its required to get in.

This is getting weird to me
I've never heard of registering a flock,or chickens, but I'm new to the chicken world. I don't register my dog, cat,or firearms,so good luck getting me to register my chicken(s)!.

Good morning,

For those of you who have not ever heard of registering your livestock,

A few years back there was a big push from the powers in charge.

without being registered, you are not allowed to move any livestock off of your immediate property.. that means, if you own a horse, don't ride it down the road, do not drive cows to the neighbor's pasture, do not take any fowl anywhere.

this is why there are no longer hardly any swaps to go to.
You cannot sell at a swap without being registered and tested.

If you notice, it is mostly the large poultry farms who have these epidemic disease breakouts. when it happens, the small surrounding farms are quarantined, despite not having any disease. .

someone on this thread was quarantined like that once and then never notified when the quarantine was lifted..

don't get me wrong, If someone or a company is selling products to eat, it should be traceable ..

but for someone like me who raises chickens for only my consumption, keep your nose out and your hands off..
