Fish Fry Friday to everyone! Way to go Cind with the saving of the roo's predicament. They sure can find trouble without looking very hard for it. I was pretty sure someone had cochins, but couldn't remember who.

No wind here yep, but it sounds like folks to the South of here are blessed with it already.

Where about are you bigz?

.. this is while it is still being constructed before I straightened up the walls. this is taken from outside at the short side.. there is a door on each of the long sides. the walls are 8 feet tall.. the roof is complete here,, difficult to make out any details with the trees in the back ground. this is from the inside before the roof went on. in the background is the sun room on the house.
Hey Jim there's a craigslist ad from Someone in Merrill if your still looking for some birds. He's got black sex links and white leghorns to sell starting March 1. They'll be a year old in April. 9 bucks a bird

I got a response from the people with the laying hens.

15 black hybrids
8 leghorns
2 barred rocks

I didn't ask why they wanted to wait until March 1 to sell them..

..........jiminwisc.......

ETA.
I just got another email from them,
they will sell before March 1.
does anyone here want a few ?
I will get some for myself and extras for anybody who wants some..

Yup,I'm between Racine and Kenosha. Two sections of my stockade fence blew down today. A basketball hoop and backboard for my pool blew INTO the inground pool. I don't think it tore the winter cover on the pool though.
My hens were all peppy and happy when I let them out this AM. I have a fairly small coop,so I let the birds out into their run everyday, then go in the coop to collect the eggs. On the colder or snowier days I open the door to the run and they just stand there as if to say "Really!? I'm not going out there!". So I have to step over and around them to collect eggs. Not today. When I opened the door to let them out, they were like a bunch of 2nd graders running out the door to go to recess!
Kind of weird. I was averaging about 11 for 12 most of the winter, then I had about 3 days in a row last week where I got about 4 eggs a day,now the last 3 or so days I've been 12 for 12.

Also,I just woke up and came downstairs. My wife's friend just bought wifey a new cockitiel,or however you spell it. Geezz.....,we are getting to be petting zoo status around here. We went from having my hunting dog to-a cat,2 birds,a chinchilla, and my 13 chickens,of coarse. We also got a horse and pony, but they are boarded. This in the last 10 months.
