We just watched a season of The Great English Baking Show on Netflix. Wish I could bake like that but I'd be bigger than a house!

Just a suggestion for whoever has an overabundance problem:

As I mentioned before, I've been boarding one of my customer's chickens for a couple of weeks now since they went down to South America for their winter vacation. I am getting so many eggs because her girls are at peak production. With the store closed and not much traffic around here this time of year there are more than we could possibly use at home or sell so I just donated 23 dozen eggs to the kitchens at Bethany Home. The chef was super excited and happy to get farm fresh eggs. Made me happy also to know they are so appreciated. (Our excess produce goes their way and to Foundations For Living in the summer.)

Ruby's Pantry or other food providers would also be a good place for your extras.

Live Generously!

Hi All!

Glad to see more people showed up and posted! Yes, a lot of people are hanging out on Facebook. I at least like to stop in here to say Hi.

Yup, food pantries are always happy to get eggs. I feel kinda bad that I haven't had enough to give lately.

My young Welsummer seems to have gone broody. I'd like to let her hatch some, but I have Merek's here so not a good idea.

Night All.

had do dig out a different base for the waterer, the one I patched with Gorilla Glue didn't hold. it did hold for over a week, though,.
I will attempt another patch, but next time I will use a piece of cloth as a binder, sort of like working with fiber glass..

.....jiminwisc....
Do you have any "JB Weld"? I've patched truck radiators with that, and it held up under heat and pressure. So I would think it would patch a waterer. Just clean the surface as good as possible before using.

Facebook....Ugh. I feel like I'm the last person on earth who does not Facebook. Guess I'm just old school. I belong to quite a few websites, and the smaller sites have seen a decline in posting the last few years. I think some of it has to do with Facebook. I guess I'm always one step behind as far as technology goes, but,oh well.... Some guys my age don't know how to get on the internet! :)

I believe JB weld holds better on metal than plastic. There are many great products out there just have to use the one right for the item you are patching. I might try a cyanoacrylate glue or "crazy glue" as it is usually called, I have used Gorilla Glue version of that to great success on many plastics even saved me $150 on a washing machine control panel replacement when a plastic pin for the knob broke and can only be bought with the whole panel, has held almost 5 years now.

The regular brown foaming Gorilla Glue is better on porous stuff, wood, brick, cloth.

The side tanks on my truck radiator (where I patched it) are plastic. Lots of options out there though.

I do enough automotive work that should have registered

, still though underhood plastic is different than a food grade plastic like a waterer so it might not necessarily work as well. If there is any sort of gap or reinforcement/rigidity needed a a putty or paste will be best. A "Crazy glue" would be more for a fine crack that wont flex much.
Cracks can spread after fixing too, an old welders trick is to drill a hole at the end to stop the crack, obviously a hole like that JB would be a perfect product for.

WHITE MORNING TO EVERYONE....oops cap lock was on. Way to go Irish with the sharin of the eggs. It really makes you feel good when the folks on the receiving end are super thank-ful.

Yep, I use jb weld on all my cracked plastic water bases. I might only have only one stray base without the grey trim. I've never had one leak where it's been patched with the jb weld. I used it one time on a high pressure power steer line that was leaking on my old truck....worked like a charm, and never leaked again.

Snow is sliding off the roof already. I'm only gonna shovel the piles in front of the entry doors and overhead door...the rest can melt where it lays.

Enjoy the Springlike weather... bigz

Hi all,

I have JB Weld . I also have two kinds of Gorilla Glue.
I like the original expanding kind the best .. I use it in indentations in wood for filler. let it swell up, trim it off and sand it ..
the first patch would have held, but I rushed it and did not let it cure before putting the waterer into use..
I think some moisture got between the glue and plastic and froze.. nothing in the world can hold up to freezing water.

I used JB Weld on my metal waterers many times. they might spring another leak, but not where the JB is..
