Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Youngest was asking to go there after church, could not because of the skunk evacuation project. He likes the cinnamon rolls, but our oldest can clean up that cfs no problem... helps to be 18 I think.
Shed lifted and rolled off it's dirt foundation. That was a sight to see, you would have appreciated it I think, Jim.

Nice Fathers Day afternoon to everyone. The chicken on the grill is almost done. It has to be the tastiest way to make chicken.

Nice pic of your daughter bl4...yu can catch them right down the road from where you live. Although it wouldn't be vacation...I guess.

Yup, I always like unconventional projects.

a friend and I did a similar move with his 2 car garage.
first we poured the concrete floor extension and then raised the garage up onto 1 1/2" pipes. then I went inside with my plow truck and pushed it 8 feet back.. worked like a charm.

I am waiting for it to cool off. I have a little to do outside.
If it doesn't cool off before dark, I can go out early in the morning.

DD Barby called me. was out rummaging, saw a snow thrower for $5.oo.. "Dad, can you make it run ?"
Sure I can, she went back to the place and knocked on the door. said she was interested in it.. the lady said, Just take it.. Barby: what's wrong with it? the lady said her husband said all it needed was a primer bulb.

she brought it here, I by passed the primer bulb and it started up and ran like new..
Barby is going to pick up a primer bulb tomorrow.

didn't do much else today. Bro called from R. I. and talked his usual hour.

Jordan came and picked up his turkeys.

Hi All:
Ok, I know I can go on here and search for hours trying to find an answer to my question, but, asking you guys a question is a way to stay in contact as I only get in the talk-a-tive mood every now and then. I have two chickens, one Cochin and one Black Marlin. Well, I have more chickens than that....but, these are the only two who are sitting on a nest....all day yesterday....one got quite vocal if we reached under her. They did not move all day that I saw, but, part of the day I was indoors due to heat. Poor girls were just panting. So, don't know anything about brooding, but, we put two eggs that were just laid under each. How long will they leave the nest? And, how will I know that they are realy sitting or just funning me?

Not a problem, finally got my glasses and was able to read all the way thru your story...Sorry to hear you are have so much trouble with preds. We have had birds on our property for two summers now and have had no problem with preds. When I was first on this site, folks talked about preds, except me....the only one we had was our dog.....who now can be taken into the run and acts real fine. Most time just lays down and looks around. DS had a strong talking to with the dog and no more problems. DS expanded the run again yesterday. It looks like 1/4 acre now, I'm sure it is not, but, I am not good at determining space. But, it is big.....thanks to him for that, the girls are quite pleased

good afternoon,

some hens sit tight on a nest. you might never catch the off of it. If they do get off it isn't for long..
while they are off, some of them raise their hackles and warn all others, especially roosters, to stay the heII away ..
Yours might be beating the heat, but the irritable sound makes me think broody .
If you take her off the nest and she goes right back in,, then most likely broody .. forget the heat..

speaking of heat. happy first day of summer.
I got up real early and went out and tied up all my tomato plants. Now all I have left to with them is put some newspaper around the bases and then spread a bale or two of straw mulch .

we had a nice rain early this morning. some people in the area didn't get any..

I will be transferring 8 guinea keets out to the chicken coop brooder.
I didn't have any chick starter, so they are started off with ground oats and corn.. they seem to like it and seem to be doing just fine on it ..

Got the whole 2 acre lawn mowed. Hand weeded the rows on half the garden and have half of it tilled so far. More to do. Son got his new wheel chair today! He is happy about it. I have to get my strawberries picked yet tonight too. I still have to take care of all the salmon and lake trout we brought home this weekend too. Ugh, I can't leave for a couple of days or everything falls apart! Ok, end of rant (for now).

Got half the strawberries picked and watered the mushrooms. Tired tonight for some reason and that shower felt like heaven.

good afternoon,
I just mowed lawn for about 1 1/2 hours. got about 3/4 of it done.
some of the guys at the restaurant were moaning about their grass getting brown. IDK what kind of soil they have, but mine was thick as hay again .

I think the garden dried up enough to rototill . I might have at it early tomorrow morning. in half of the corn patch it is a race between the weeds and the corn.
