I froze all my berries to deal with them at a later date. I have a gallon and a half of pure raspberry juice and 5 gallons more of berries to press. I'm not a fan of seeds in jam. Some people leave them in but to me most of the time it makes up half the jar
Yeah, I don't mind the pulp, but the seeds have no place in my jam either.
I was going to make some more black berry jelly, but Annie said we have more than enough pints left from the last time I made some. I have a tendency to go big or go home when it comes to canning..
No matter how many jars you can, the clean-up is the same, so I do one big day of whatever I am doing.
One year I did 90 quarts of tomatoes in one day.. they lasted for a couple of years for us..
Annie has enough raspberries in the freezer for a 5 gallon batch of wine. we sill start those after the black berries are well on their way..
It helps the juice extraction if you freeze the berries first.
we didn't freeze the blackberries. but after squeezing over a gallon of juice out of them, that is when I ran them through the food processor and put the pulp into the jelly bag.
