Just put one of my meat birds in the crock pot. Good thing I'm shredding it for bbq chicken cuz I wouldn't have room for taters or anything else. I need to start on a better way of raising more at one time so I can do 30 or so. It's hard to fence in a big enough permanent area and make it predator proof and able to withstand 30 birds for 8 weeks.

Got a few beef and a whole mess of piggies to send off to their eternal slumber before k can go to bed. I hate being tired but sure like the extra money of a second job. Especially in fall when it gets busy and I work 3 or 4 days a week extra

I put the drag on Ollie and dragged the lumpy ground between the trees and the road.
the first couple of dozen passes just raked up the flattened weeds. I piled them against the burn pile.. then eventually I could get through the weeds and down to dirt.. things went better after than..
I back dragged the worked up dirt clumps and it smoothed out real nice.. I got hot , so I came in for some ice water.
I am in no hurry to go back out.. tomorrow will be cooler.

Actually, Jim, I love to hear what you have done for the day. I like to "brag" about what I get done and therefore like to hear about others as well. Today, canned 22 more pints of hot salsa, picked 1/2 the beans so far, picked cukes and picked mushrooms (only a dozen or so today). Then gave puppies a bath and now am going to process and freeze the mushrooms. Then if all cooperates I will go pick the rest of the beans and maybe the tomatoes.

well, that's a first for me. I have watched all sorts of birds hatch, but never saw a new born pigeon..

Do you have to feed it by hand, like a cockatiel ?
or do they eat on their own like a chicken ?
you haven't seen ugly until you saw a baby cockatiel ..
