Slow Food is a world wide group that enjoys real food and spread the word to remind people of what eating used to be like before McDonnalds came on the scene. We get together, eat, do service projects related to food and feeding others, that kind of thing. Sept is membership renewal time and so they had a gathering at Thrive in Wausau.

Spatchcock- Cutting the back out of a whole bird and then opening it up and breaking the breastbone so that it lays flat on a grill or can be hung flat in a smoker. Takes up less room if you hang so we can put several in the barrel.

Fire is fun.

GG, thanks for the education.
I don't like joining clubs etc much,.
I was a charter member of a wine club a few years back.
but when they began electing officers and having structured meetings, I bailed. since then I believe the club no longer exists.
just remember ; KISS , Keep It Simple Stupid..

I just got a reminder for my lab work at the VA on Sept 12.
I also bowl on that day.
on the 10th and 11th is my class reunion.
on the 12th my sister is coming to town to meet up with our cousin whom I have not seen for about 55 years.
they want to go out to lunch. I bowl at 1 PM.
on the 9th I pick up my 6 POL pullets.
on the 13th, I think I will just collapse

today I put the back blade back on to the tractor. worked the ground over for about an hour. it is looking pretty smooth, now. I pushed the weeds onto a pile near the burn pile. after the fire, and after the weeds decompose, I will spread them along side the ditch along the road.

I bought 50 pounds of grass seed. I measured the new plot. 80' x 100' 8000 sq ft. about 1/5th of an acre.
just that much more to mow..

did you get your goose yet ?
how many can you take in one day ?
My nephew from Manitowoc hunts goose.
Over there they just land all over in the farm fields..

I haven't gotten any yet. They've all been getting shot at too close to me to me to be comfortable to land. I saw about 500 today but they were just way too high. You can take 5 a day until the 15th then 2 a day after that for the remainder of the season

That's hilarious. I used to salmon fish with a guy like that up by little river. He had absolutely no filter. It was more scary than anything.
