Yes, you will have to have a prescription for antibiotics now. Aureomycin, Tylosin, Oxytetracycline, Sulmet . . . Stock up now guys. It's a real pain in the *****. It's gonna be real fun at work dealing with the farmers who can't treat their expensive calves for scours when the medicine is sitting right on our shelf..

I'm paying way too much for feed. We are a Purina dealer where I work. But I order mine from Prince and pay $11 for 50 lb

Me too. I think the stuff I bought last week was $11.34/50#
4 50# bags for $45.53.

a year ago it was $9.8o/50#

I can't figure it out.. corn and oats is low right now.

I think it is time to check out the other feed mills in the area.

Nice Packer win for sure.... keep the wins coming.

That's sad to hear about the FDA pulling the cures for our livestock that we need at a affordable cost.....now when the animals or poultry need affordable medicine .... guess who suffers and is the real loser here! Like folks are gonna call the vet.....another way the government can control the feed we eat by shutting down the home grown stuff that's way better quality that we all enjoy....some folks will get rid of their animals because of this decision.....one family because of this is too many....and yes, I know antibiotics are overused.....

good evening,
I was planning on making some bread rolls this afternoon.
those plans got squashed when company showed up.
those rolls would have gone good with the chili that Annie made..
maybe tomorrow.

I did get the tractor started and had the driveway plowed by 10 AM.

watching monday night football.. not much else to watch.

good cold afternoon,

only 8 eggs today.. had a record 16 yesterday.

I did finally get a chance to bake a pan of dinner rolls.
they turned out just great.. despite my mistake. I set the oven and what I thought was 365F . it was really 265F.
I just left them in the oven for a bit longer until they turned brown. they did turn out OK.

Frankie is making me crazy.. she wants to go out, then I bring her in, and then she wants to go out. it's been like this all day.. PiTa..

Baton Down the Hatches, we have a real slap in your face wind today.....went and cut the Christmas tree today, and have it standing proud waiting for it's trim.
I chose to drive up and down the driveway for a good snowpack drive....keeps the gravel where it should be....plenty of snowfalls to come with a clean up job necessary. I like to do it as few times possible...kinda like cutting grass. Wasted time...in my opinion.
Keep the logs on the fire...

good frigid morning.

I have not been out to the coop yet, I put a heater out there yesterday on a Thermocube . I am hoping that it at least keeps the water from freezing.. I did not have any water freeze out there so far. but yesterday there were ice crystals around the edge of the plastic dish.

had fresh eggs and fresh dinner rolls for breakfast. other than that, no news ..

I made it out to the coop. the water was not frozen and the heater was not running. so that meant that it is above 35*F .
picked up 7 eggs. none of them were frozen.
