Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hey Irish!! what type of buns are you raising these days? Trying to talk dd into getting rid of the guinea pigs (cute buy annoying creatures) and get a bunny for 4 h for next year. But we need a mini rex...I have heard they are the most hypoallergenic as ds is allergic to a lot of furry creatures!

on a side note the bantam chicks are getting bigger... anyone here familiar with buff brahma? might need help determining our show birds from this group. A breed I have no familiarity with! But they sure are cute!

otherwise I am on mom duty too but we have to find an assisted living place for her in the next week or two. She cant be on her own and her health is deteriorating so we need to move forward. otherwise basketball season is ending next weekend...month off and then soccer season starts... that's why we miss the bash every year... too many sports things!

I have Dutch and Chocolate Dutch. I'm boarding some bunns for a gal who has all colors of Dutch, Silver Foxes (meaties), a Mini Rex and some mixed. She has several Dutch for sale but I'm not sure about the Mini Rex. I'll ask her. It's a doe and she is very sweet!

My MIL started out in Assisted Living at Bethany Home here in Waupaca and then she moved into the Nursing (memory wing) when her Alzsheimer's progressed. They were wonderful with her (and us). Good luck finding a suitable placement for your mom, too!

good morning,
good news/bad news day here.

good news, I made it to O'Reilly's and they installed the E-ring onto the carb for me , No charge.
bad news. on the way there a guy ran a red light and I T-boned him.
good news. nobody got hurt.
bad news. he got a ticket.
good news. I did not.

Annie is feeling a little better today,
I seldom catch cold or flu,
but my throat is ticklish. I might not go out and install the carb today. .

...jiminwisc......

I'm glad no one was hurt, Jim!!

I've been dealing with a morning and evening sore-ish throat for a couple of days. So far nothing has gotten worse with it. Stay well!

PS - my boarder says the rex are no more or less allergenic than other breeds of bunnies. If your ds is allergic to other breeds of rabbits he will also be allergic to the rex breed. She says she's heard that same thing from other people before and the person who started the rumor should be shot. :) The rex fur is just shorter and denser than most but the dander is the same.

If you're interested in this mini rex she has she will be selling her after she has a litter this spring.

wow I'd say you lucked out Jim. Glad no one got hurt. Hopefully your vehicle isn't totally f'd!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I hatched some ducks many moons ago...when I was in high school.

I had a bunch of thick foam kicking around, so I decided to build my own incubator. It came out pretty well and has worked great in my test runs. I started some eggs today. I got some eggs from Irishrovr, and added some from my flock. I have a small flock...only 8...at the moment. lol. I have barred rock, GL Wyandottes, comets and silkies. My roo is a silkie so they will be a mix of the above. I got some BLRW/mixes from Irishrovr so I'm hoping for some pretty babies! We will know in a few weeks! :D

Bambi, if you managed to hatch duck eggs, you should have no
trouble with chickens.

I bought one of my Sportsman bators from a man who raised
show silkies. he said he artificially inseminated them because
they had too many feathers in the way .

I didn't work on Ollie today . too much like a blizzard out there
It won't take long to get the carb back on. Sunday is supposed to ge kind of calm...

I can feel a sore throat coming on. time to medicate and get
to bed. A couple bottles of Belgian beer should do it..

belgian beer?! Blue moon?

Hope it is not the sore throat I have been battling...... we are going on four weeks and I am still getting a sore throat. Every time I think it is done it comes back.

Heading down to Reedsburg tonight, my sister is singing with a Jazz band at the High School there. I do not trust her driving and I know my mom will feel better if I go with her and drive.

Dogs were at the vet yesterday for their yearly check-up. Ginger is such a nut, all she wants to do is lick all the people to death.
