Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Oh, they are,, I think they tasted a lot like sand hill cranes and a little like bald eagle..
Sand Hill cranes are the ribeye of the sky... at least in SD they are.

I have 4 walnuts to plant out in the pasture. Finally got DH to walk out with me to decide where to plant them. I don't want to put them where he wants to add a field entrance...

That sounds like a standard Radon system.

When we were looking for a place, we lost out on a place we really wanted, but the other people wanted more. Glad we did because what we ended up with is so much better...

this rainy day was not real productive.
however I did transplant 24 strawberry runners from a flat into individual pots. They really didn't need replanting, but I couldn't water them decently in that shallow flat pan. now I can give each one special care until I can get them planted permanently .

soon I will have about 6 dozen Roma tomatoes to put into bigger pots. I think I will try styrofoam coffee cups for that. Annie has a bunch of them.

Many years ago I installed a few Radon systems. I worked for a man who was a certified tester.
I learned one thing. the system was way over priced for the work we did. I made good money, and he made really good money.. we knocked out the complete concrete floors and
re-poured them.
at least the people ended up with a better floor than they originally had..

Radon readings were higher in the winter time when all the windows were kept shut. just saying.

good morning,
I hope this is the last day of rain for awhile.

today I am planning on transplanting some Roma tomato seedlings into individual pots.
I am going to try using styrofoam coffee cups.

later on I have to go get a can of gas for Ollie.

the garden might be going in late this year because of the rain and wet conditions.
it makes me think of doing container gardening.

Going to Madison today to get my pole beans and some seed potatoes. The ones I planted on Good Friday have not come up. Also going to Menards to get a replacement for the apple tree I bought last year that didn't make it through the winter. Picked up my lime yesterday so I can't wait to get that tilled in and plant. Usually I have radishes up by now.

Thanks for the info Jim. We did not install/contract the radon work, it was already in place when we bought the house. I'll keep in the mind the radon levels winter vs summer!

Oh for some warmer, drier weather. With our luck we will probably go from 40s to 90s and not be able to get a good garden going before the extreme heat hits! But the almanac says that we will have cool temps moving forward.
