They're laying pleasure

good evening,

I did a couple of trial runs with the disc hiller. It worked pretty good. the garden was rained on last night, so it was not as dry as I would like it to be.
So, I took the discs off and put on the quack diggers. got company just before I got that done. so I spent an hour talking and wishing they would leave. they did. and I finished mounting the quack digger teeth.. then I went and dragged the whole garden flat again. it should dry out pretty fast with this wine.
I am here to tell you that it got almost cold when the sun went behind the trees.

I was surprised , and pleased, that I didn't dredge up many rocks with the quack digger.. a couple of them I recognized from last year.. LOL

I did dig some up. I had them too deep and they rotted. Have these planted shallow in a slight ditch. That way they can get hilled as they grow without too huge of mounds. Live and learn.

good morning,

after I (S S S) I am heading to Rothschild to Harbor Fright .
going to pick up a half inch air ratchet.
It will save me hours of time changing teeth on the quack digger.
the quack digger / cultivator / hiller can be modified to do many jobs. I even use it like a chisel plow in the garden. and after the garden is done, I rake the vines and dead plants onto a compost heap.. after which I drag the garden .

Annie is picking up my seed potatoes this morning. the farm is just down the same road where she works.

coffee is done by now. bbl
