Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Deer Hunting Eve to all the Hunters.....good luck for a successful hunt....may you shoot straight and bag a nice one. Even trophy does will fill your freezer if the need for great red meat is on your hunting agenda. Hoping for half way decent weather here. The ladder stand gets colder faster than it use to for some reason... :idunno

Yes good luck everyone! DH picked up youngest DS to take him up North for gun season.

Boy yesterday was rough...... Not a dry eye in the building, and it was standing room only. I think my face has finally recovered.......

Going to get the Christmas lights up tomorrow. :)

I have to work on Thanksgiving...ha! No making a meal. I'm tired of making Thanksgiving dinner...I hate it. DS &DIL are going to her parents.
I sold the house in Hartford! It closes on 12/11...makes me happy to get that out of my hair Now only 1 property left of hubby's estate and DS &DIL are buying it. Then the estate can be closed...took almost 2 years.

funny thing, today I spent a long time outside in the damp and almost rain and cold temps, skinning that deer and cutting it up into chunks. never came in to warm up. my feet didn't get cold and I was wearing tennies..
but I did/do have wool socks on.

the deer turned out to be a bust.
I never skinned such a bloody bruised animal before.
everything along the back and half way down each side was bruised and bloody.
the only salvageable parts were the front legs. and the neck.
I never save the liver and heart..

I got snowed or rained out. so I just left the carcass hanging. the dogs love it.

Hubby and daughter are sitting in the blind. She was a trooper, got up at 5 and got going. They got cold and came home for a couple hours but then she went back out. Proud of that little girl. She finished her hunter safety the beginning of the month and followed it through!

Hi,
I am wondering how a 1 to 4 yr old can take the hunter safety course ??

I don't hunt anymore.
today I got up late, sat and watched TV, finally after noon I got into the shower.
put on all clean clothes and my slippers.
didn't go outside for anything. No chickens to feed, remember ? AAaaahh heavy sigh .

DD #1's BF didn't get a deer today. they usually do each year. he gave us a deer last year.. this is my favorite way to hunt.

Good to hear that Daethen...nothing like a great mentor to teach the young hunter the right safe sportsman way of doing things....a lot of slobs in the woods for sure...I've met a few myself.
We have 3 hanging so far with 5 of us hunting. My daughter is a excellent sitter too.....hope she bags one soon...she is overdue.

DH was working on a shed this evening out in the field - not too far out. As he drove the truck along the fenceline to get back to the house, he saw 4 deer out in the hay field. Didn't have a gun with him

Well, I got a bit busy last night so I will update now. MY BABY GIRL GOT AN 8 POINT BUCK. She had never had the chance to shoot the 270 until she aimed at the deer, she had never aimed at an animal before and she got it done. I am one proud momma. And a little jealous, I have yet to get anything larger than a short spike. Now to put together enough cash to get it mounted. It's a must with this kind of story. Plus she wants to go out and try to fill her 3 doe tags later this week.
