Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I give your DD ,the huntress, the highest praise we have in our extended family..
an "atta girl" ..

I limited my trophys to
spikers and 4 pointers.
never had the faith to wait for a bigger one.

Kinda funny how when you get older the head mounts don't seem practical...I have a lot of them, and only have the European mounts done now. Congrats to your daughter for a great shot...good for her...bragging rights for sure!

So far at the in-laws; two deer bagged, one buck, one doe. Hoping the youngest DS will bag a deer this year; he is due.

Countdown to Thanksgiving...... and all I have been asked to bring are veggies and dip. I guess my cooking has gone downhill.......

people have just caught on.:lau

ta-daaa !!!
I have a "new" used Craftsman 6" jointer.
it is in such good shape that I couldn't bring myself to dicker the price down.
the guy put a 1/2 HP motor on it. threw in a set of sharpened knives and 2 push pads.
it has a factory built stand with very nice rollers.
more weight than two old guys could lift. we sort of rolled/lifted it onto the truck.

can't wait to give it a try..

Hi,
made it through another thanksgiving.
small group . 7 people.

enough food for 3 times that many.

had a piece of lemon pie for breakfast.

I made two six pound chickens.
stuffing, and candied sweet potatoes.

Annie made two lemon pies, mashed potatoes, corn, and gravy.

I used butter mixed with ranch dressing powder mix for the chicken rub with a little watkins chicken seasoning thrown in.

turned out very tasty..

Sounds yummy! We ended up with 47 people (our children and grandchildren, mymom, my siblings, and my neices and nephews along with their littles).
We provided two turkeys (one smoked and one roasted), potatoes, gravy, veggies, and homemade buns. The guests brought all the rest.

good one month until Christmas , morning.
Annie has gone too far with this left over food thing. this morning she re-heated the coffee from yesterday.. yuk....
It is nice that our families can get together once in awhile. my siblings all have extended families of their own , so we don't do thanksgiving or Christmas together too often..
My youngest sister usually hosts a New Years Eve party. Not always planned by her, people just invite themselves in..
We don't hit the drinks too hard, we play games and just eat whatever she puts out.

I decided to tune up the new toy before going ahead and using it.
It was not as rusty as I imagined. it is more stained, like cast iron does.
I gave it a good rub down with Blaster anyhow.
today I will remove the blades and adjust the snipe out of the outfeed table.
It is not too bad, but I know if I leave it there, it will wear on me until I fix it.

Good to her you both had a great Thanksgiving! We made a wild turkey with all the fixins...longgrain and wild rice, squash, mashed potatoes with ho-made gravy, ho made rolls, apple pie and cherry cheesecake...I washed it down with a old fashioned.
Angie bagged a big doe in the morning....she made a perfect 60 yard shot....She was a happy camper, and I was happier than a lotto winner for her!
