Good morning! Not much snow here to speak of, just a dusting.
DS made some turkey jerky. It is pretty tasty.:drool Cookies are baked, decorations are up, very few gifts have been readied, none are wrapped. Eeek:eek:time is getting short!

Our Christmas plans got dashed yesterday.
We were going to do it on Saturday.
I was going to make individual cornish hens for everybody.
Well, youngest DD Brenda, called. Her SO got a turkey from work. She wants to cook it and bring it here. OK, but I am thinking that I will never get the cornish dinner off of my bucket list.. have been trying to do it for years.. One of these days I am going to cook just one and sit down and eat all by myself..

we don't do much gift swapping at Christmas. any time we buy something during the year we say
" that is your Christmas present"..

-----------------"Easter"----------
etc etc etc..

Busy in the woods again today. I managed to take down one of the ground blinds, as well as one of the ladder stands, however a big elm decided to fall on the logging road with the last hard wind we had here...so I spent quite a while clearing the road and putting a load on the utv for firewood, since it was a standing dead tree, I could simply toss the wood in the basement and will be using it in the near future. It's amazing how often the saw is used for a simple trip though the woods...jus sayin.

hey Brent, I burned a few elms long ago.
IMHO that is the best wood for holding coals overnight.
I have to get a gallon of gas mixed for my chainsaw. I have a big black walnut branch to cut up.. Now that I am using the stove in the shop, I have to come up with firewood.
My shavings and bits and pieces won't last very long..
I have two very dead and dry pine logs that I could cut up. but I am resisting doing that.

Congrats to you and Ross and your daughter bl4. I forget what party pays for what, but his side should pick up some costs of the big event?
Jim, You should be able to mix the pine with the walnut when you burn and not have any problems. The pine split small burns pretty decent, but big pieces don't burn very well.....I burn prolly a face cord of pine every year, mixing it with the hardwood or used for kindling to get er going.

No way are we putting the shed on hold! The table saws and kayaks need to be removed from the basement! Then there is all the stuff cluttering up the garage! They are thinking a 2019 wedding; knowing my daughter it will probably be 2018.......

We will see who pays for what; they are both pretty smart about budgeting and diy so it should be pretty low key.

Since I have access to a travel company through my job, I can book their travel plans for them at a discount.

DH has an interview planned..... hope he gets it and the matching salary.
