Is it Anita Gooch that has the dogs? There are a few maremma pups on puppy find.
Welcome to the Cheeseheads Noelle! That is so thoughtful of you to host a gathering. You missed the annual Cheeseheads bash the first weekend in June in the Clintonville area. I have not made it to the bash yet, but it sounds like a great time.Hi, I’m Noelle. I live in Big Bend, Wisconsin. I’m relatively new (again) to poultry after a 20+ year stretch without any birds. Needless to say, the leaning curve begins again. I’ve learned so much on this site but am wondering if anyone is interested in having a get together near me. I’d actually be willing to host a cookout in my yard. I have room for lots of guests and their cars. Big Bend is a milwaukee suburb I suppose. Let me know if you’re interested! If we get enough response, we will collaborate and nail down a specific date and time. It would be great to visit - and learn from- fellow poultry parents!
Hi there. To bad I missed it! I would have come! I have seven chickens of various common breeds (leghorn, NH red, barred rock, sex link, etc)- five cockerels and two hens. I’m really hoping I can keep them together. So far, so good. They’re only about three month old though. I’m cautiously optimistic but have my doubts. Since they’re pets and most of my friends fill my fridge with their eggs, if the roosters start not getting along, before I get rid of some I’ll place the two hens in different homes to see it that solves the fighting because I wouldn’t mind having a top flock at all as crazy as that sounds. I love the rooster personality.Welcome to the Cheeseheads Noelle! That is so thoughtful of you to host a gathering. Tell us more about your chickens and such.

And my true love is turkeys. I got 8 poults this spring and have 8 today. 100% success (I’m proud of that since I’m a greenhorn). I love these guys. Also just pets. I’m way to attached to butcher them. I realize - again- that makes me sound insane- but it’s the truth. I just love my birds. Spend tons of time with them.
As for my history with poultry- the last time I had them was when I was 26. I’m 43 now and don’t recall much of the lessons learned all those years ago. So it’s like starting over so this site is my lifeline!
What about your story?
Where are you located?Hi I am new too. Sounds like fun but I don't get to your part of the state very often.
