Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Yes, Bar Rocks are mostly black. They have little white specks on their feathers. There were no black chicks. They throw all the chicks into a box and there isn't alot of room for them until more get sold. There are 2 heat lamps. They do have lots of food and water. I have gotten them figured out as to the breeds. The Easter Egger was realized when our friend, who also raises them, said that is what it was. That is why I started pulling up pictures of the different breeds and compared. I don't mind that I only have one Buff Orphington. I really didn't care about the breeds, but Australorpes was the one I specifically was looking for. Glad I got 2. Now I have the limit for what is allowed in the city of Whitewater and if I lose one, I won't have a lonely chicken. I don't think Pixie really minded. I think she enjoys our one on one time together.

True; and one of them became president..
today I am going to take the battery out of the pick up and go get a new battery.
Then go to Menards and pick up the 17ea
2x4's to make the frames for the roof on the front of the garage..
there will be extra cut-off pieces left over.
they won't go to waste, I will build 24 feet of shelves in the new tool shed I built two years ago.
I will be taking progress pictures.

Sounds like quite a chore you got going on. Looks like landlord doesn't want to wait 3 or 4 months for me to secure a deposit and improve my credit number. I have to make a few phone calls to see if there are any programs I would qualify for now. If not, the house will go up for sale but there will be an exception clause if I can get qualified for a home loan. He is putting the house as a rental property and that he prefers I stay here. If not, looks like I will be forced to move 2 doors down, with Don's almost 83 yr old father.

Sorry to hear about the housing troubles you are dealing with Raeja. Hopefully it will all work out for you.

I hope you are wearing a mask when out and about Jim? I'm trying not to go anywhere if I don't have to.

Stay Safe... bigz

OMG!! I had a woman in the self check out, with her small child, if she boiled the brown eggs, if the color would come off. I thought she was joking. I said no and she then asked me to watch her stuff while she ran to grab some white eggs for coloring. Her child could not have been more than maybe 2 yrs old. *LOL* Now if that doesn't take the cake. I could not believe it.

As for the housing, I called the bank my landlord suggested and asked to speak with a mortgage loan officer. I had to leave a message, but when I heard the last name, I think I know which realtor he is going through. We shall see what happens when I call back on Monday. Still not holding my breath though. I did secure a credit card so that it won't hurt my credit ratings. Another mortgage loan officer suggested I get 2 or 3 cards. He would prefer 3.

To help your credit score, you need to have credit cards and use them, BUT make sure you only charge what you can pay off every month. Don't carry any credit over if you can help it. Too many people get in trouble with credit cards by using them like they were free money. No, you need to pay it off every month and on time.

Hoping this all works out for you @Raeja !

Nice to have you back on here again.

when we first got married, we didn't have credit cards.. paid cash for everything.
went to buy a new car. the salesman told us that we had no credit rating. said we should go buy something on credit.
went to Sears & Roebuck (back then) and bought a freezer. Same day, went to get the car,, .
getting that credit was one of the worst pieces of advice we ever received.
got my wood, going to start cutting pieces for the trusses ...

We don't have a credit card and don't have any debt either.
When we were younger we needed credit for vehicles and a home, as well as charging major purchases like appliances. Now we just pay for everything, but it took decades to get to this point. It's amazing that people with more wealth don't qualify for credit anymore....people that can't afford to charge are the ones in debt with credit...it's all kinda backwards today.

I'm not sure what you mean by this - people with more wealth qualify for more credit. We qualify for a lot larger credit limit than we have on our cards, but we don't charge anywhere near our max anyway. We buy only what we can afford if we were to buy with cash. Granted, it takes a certain amount of self control to do this - there are lots of ways I would love to max out my credit card, but I won't because I don't like the repercussions of doing so.

People who are buried in credit card debt are spending beyond their abilities to pay. It is sad to see, and I believe there needs to be a requirement for a course in basic life skills for high school students . Basic life skills like balancing a checkbook; info about credit cards, rent, & insurance; basic cooking skills; and such. An exercise in "This is your income $$$", out of this you pay "your rent $$, utility bill $$ and car insurance $$." What is left is what you can spend on "food and fun".
