Wyo, rhubarb doesn't take a lot of care.
some manure at the end of the growing season once in awhile, or compost.
what I do when I am cutting some, is I pull the stalk loose, then chop off the big leaves. I lay the leaves along side the plants for weed control. when I mow the grass, I make sure to blow the clippings away from the rhubarb to keep it clean. The leaves kind of paste themselves to the ground so the lawn mower doesn't pick them up when I mow..
when I had chickens, they picked my rhubarb patch for their dusting bowl. wiped out half of the plants. I bought a few plants from a local guy and re established the patch..
Nothing green around here yet. had a real good snow cover until it rained the other night..
a long time ago my neighbor gave me some Jerusalem artichokes.. I have been trying to eradicate them for 30 years. they come up in the rhubarb patch and I pull them out. and then they come back if I don't get every fiber of root. If somebody offers Jerusalem artichokes, don't accept them,
