I thought some of you might get a kick out of this.
I had some old buttercup squash seed and a vacant 2' x 3' tub full of compost.
it was too late for planting squash , but I just thought i would see if the seeds would sprout
I planted the whole pack. 44 seeds. 25 came up.
I just let them go, did not thin them out.
here we are, about five weeks later. the plants are standing straight up except for a few. they are well over a foot tall now. and lo and behold, a lot of them have blossoms. I don't think they are a vining variety.
I mostly let the rains water them. if it doesn't rain for 2 or 3 days, i water them from the rain barrel.
I will let you know if I get any squashes..

we had several LGD throughout the years.
my avatar is Dora with one of her pups.
she was a Marema.
She's beautiful!

Ours are a border collie and corgi. I call them LGDs because they do the job of one. They are who keep the coyotes, fox, raccoons, deer, etc. out of our yard, and even stand up to bear, although we call them off of those ASAP!

My hubby with our two LGD ( ☺️ ) dogs at a family reunion in
I always thought l LGD dogs were those large white dogs that guard sheep. That's the ones I see around here.
Debbie probably hit the nail on. if you have dogs that guard your chickens and stuff, you can call them LGD dogs because they do what the large white ones do.
I forget what they're called, though? I guess cooper's an lgd dog.Sometimes I call him a PITA😁

Great Pyrenees are popular LGDs, but certainly not the only ones

Every once in a while, this thread goes away and I have to figure out how to get it back, Anyways---
Well, my 3 groups of chickens are starting to be okay with each other. They kind of still stick together as two from here, three from there, six from there, but it's getting better. I did accidentally locked them out of their coop The other night, I went out at 10 to take out Cooper, and saw them sitting all over the place, and outside the fence, so me and Cooper gathered them up and got them inside, so they were happy again.😄
