I would get rid of the lone chicken. sell/give it away.
no strings attached. ie. the people can do whatever they want with it. even process it.
then start over in the spring.
it is not worth the bother to keep just one chicken over winter.

I sell chicks/chicks on Facebook. Here's how. This is from summer.

You just don't put prices in or even say "free chicken." Just post the picture and say something like, "looking for a new address," "new home," etc., and tell them to message for more info. For free roosters, I've said something like, "Merle can't live here anymore. He's sweet but we have too many. Msg for more info."

Hopefully she can find a bird for her lonely bird.

Anyway egg production here down 1 egg aday, but have 3 or 4 younger hens hopefully they will start in Dec Jan, Than I have the hen with 5 little ones i guess those wont lay untill feb march and I think most of those are hens.

We have Alliant for electric company and rarely ever have an outage but today we've had our 8th or 9th outage that lasts just long enough to shut everything off, then it's back on again.

Our router takes about two minutes to reboot after each one. :barnie
