There is a man named Paul K located in Amhurst that advertises on Craigs list. I think he gets most of his chicks, ducks from Cackle hatchery.

If I look long enough I might be able to find his number.

carol, I do not have call ducks.. I am looking for some for a lady on wi animal swaps group.. I will take eggs too and hatch them..
I am also looking for quail and or quail eggs to hatch..

I have only muscovy ducks..

A guy here in wausau has a camel . want to hear something really funny? A few years ago the Lutheran High school had a live Nativity scene and pagent.. the camel was there and a donkey and a cow and a goat.. right? It is winter and the show was held outside.. very nice.. lots of people..
SOMEBODY complained because the animals were forced to be outside in the cold !!! Just where did they think they would have been if they weren't at the high school ? In somebody's living room???? LOL

Some people are so dumb! These are probably the type of idiots creating all these ridiculous ordinances.
Carol, it's too bad you're so far away. I know someone who has a bunch of calls for sale. And I should have some hatching on the 4th.​

I am willing to drive if need be.. I love Emma the white mallard I got, but he needs girls his own species!! LOL
I did email Lund poultry who is near us, but they may only have ducklings...

The reason i wondered if any BYC'r was in/near Amherst is there is a person with east indian and calls up in that area on a CL I was on.

me me me me How far from wausau are those calls? How far from Cambria? Cambria is just west of Beaver Dam about 23 miles.. that is where the lady lives who I am searching for the calls..

IF lund poultry has calls, but they will be 15 a piece if they do have them.


I had to add this...
I was sitting here, half falling asleep, and heard a very strange sound...
A chicken scratching, as if taking a bath OR scratching for food.
I look in on the chicks and Henrietta the sight impaired BR.
There she is while the chicks are trying to sleep.. taking a dust bath, where there is no dust, no sunshine.. but the brooder red light...
I brought her out and held her for a little while, she is tired, but just couldn't understand that its time to sleep.
I turned up the heater in the room a bit, and turned off the light...
sigh...

Go TO Sleep!!! LOL
I am sure she will do better out at the barn.

Good Morning All! So many posts! Think today will be another clean up and odds and ends day. Got up at 6 after Bob's 3rd attempt to get me up to go outside. I got up stumbled to the door and turned around and he was eating.

When he did go out I left him out for a cool down period.

Then didn't hear the river in the crawlspace running and sure enough the float was hung up. Had to go down in there to remove the screen cause the water was over the top and wood chunks were inside it. Eventually will have them all cleaned out at this rate. Hope your day starts better than mine!
