Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hey! I have 5 mins until the chicken is done on the griil. Hollandaise is made and the asparagus in in the micro....,mmmmm cant wait! Picked up the table saw today...wondering where I will put it? It is waiting in the truck until after dinner. The guy I bought it from is selling eggs from his barred rocks for $1.50 a doz! Cripes--that is less than the store I think! No wonder I cant sell eggs? He is on a noce slow road too though...so maybe folks will feel OK stopping in. I did do OK when I put them out in a cooler...might have to do that again this year. We have a campground close that makes a bunch of traffic past my house--those IL people ya know! Maybe I should raise my price to $4 doz...like the guy in town?
Gotta run--supper's ready! Terrio

TO, you can get at least $3/dozen from the IL crowd. I have friends down there & that is what they pay. Their idea.

, I... am.... so..... tired..... DH and I were outside all day "digging" a trench for the new chicken run and a water line for out by the coops.
ya.gif
I put in 8 metal posts and dug 4 post holes. I am pooped! DH is in appleton now buying some things for tomorrow. and some more goat formula, hopefully we can wean her with the bag.
we let out the 10 week old out to free range with the big birds. hopefully they come home to roost, they've been lock in their coop and run for a week and a half and have been coming in to roost at night for about a week so hopefully
fl.gif
they make it in. maybe I should go check! DS 5 was walking around this aft with all sores of chickens under his arm
gig.gif
I handed him our silkie roo to walk around with for awhile
gig.gif
that little butt (the roo) keeps attacking the younger kids, he used to attack me and the older kids until he lost a couple of times. but those little ones he still intimidates. he ran after my DD 3 today, she stopped running and screamed her fool head off. I think that took him by suprise cause he stopped too, of course he spotted me at this time. Dh chased him all over the yard. one of these times I gotta get a video of that, win me big money on AFV (america's funniest videos).
gig.gif
my brother called last night and asked if he could steal my DH today.... I told him to try and see what happens
lau.gif
he's like what, you gotta have time together? I'm like ya, try to finish the coop, dig a trench....... and the 100 other things we got going on. and NOW we gotta separate the goats from the dumb dogs cause I can NOT leave them together. I think I would end up with 2 dead goats
hit.gif
and then 2 dead dogs
smack.gif
the dog decided that she wanted to eat the goats food yesterday
hu.gif
and snapped at Arrow and drew a little blood. and I was watching them, happened in a blink. man did I freak! I told DH that HIS dog bite MY goat!
gig.gif
it's always HIS dog when she's naughty! lol
I forgot what else I was going to say...............oh I remember, about the adding this thread to your favorites, you (Gaelio) can do acouple things. first I gotta say that I don't subscribe to this thread cause HOLY MOLY that's alot of emails you would get!
ok here goes, how computer savy are you? sorry if i over explain, I tend to do that!
gig.gif

option 1. go to the page/thread that you want in your favorites and click on "add to favorites" up top in the internet explorer bar, you may have to refresh the page when u come here so that you see the new posts
option 2. go to the index click on where are you..... when you are there, minimize the window (up top of page see that little boxes thing between the line and the X? click on it) that will make you internet window smaller so that you see your wall paper (desktop) back there...... now see the address bar? it has a little yellow chickie next to something like this (http://www.backyard....) click on AND drag the little chickie to your desktop and drop it there. close your internet page and double click on the little chickie on your desk top. It will now take you to the where are you index click on new posts to see all the new posts since that last time you were here. you have to keep signed in all the time to get here that way. also you MAY have to refresh the page to show new post? im not sure. hopefully that explains it and I didn't over explain. you NEVER know how much people know about computers. my mom deals with this all the time as she fixes computers and take calls when people are having a problem. then she talks to me like she's dealing with one of them and I always gotta remind her that I know computers. lol anyways! I gotta get to putting together the bullitens for church tomorrow.
th.gif
see ya
PS, I checked about option 2 and when you double click on it and open the page it is all up to date/time you don't have to refresh the page. so YAY a quick way to get here!
celebrate.gif

PSs I had you do this on the where am I... page cause that way you can click on the "new posts" link. otherwise it will take you to the page that you drag over.... Im done.

What a great dinner! Homegrown asparagus is so much tastier that the store's! Well, top that with home eggs/Hollandaise and you've got a winner! I didnt have time to post this before...we were burying one of our elderly cats and this is what I found...are they Morels?

They were growing under our oak tree in the pet cemetery...
Thanks--I never found one before....Terri O

ETA: if they are Morels...how do I know if they are still good?

The false morels can be told apart from the true morels by careful study of the cap, which is often "wrinkled" or "brainy", rather than honeycomb or net-like. Gyromitra esculenta has a cap that is generally darker and larger than the true morels (Morchella sp.). The caps of early morels (Verpa sp.) are attached only at apex (top) of cap, unlike true morels which have caps that are attached at or near the bottom. The easiest way to tell the false from the true variety, is to simply look inside the stem. False morels contain a cotton-ball looking substance inside their stem while true morels are hollow inside.

Morels are known as hickory chickens in many parts of Kentucky.

No wonder so many of us like them!
Looks like the good ones to me. Hope you enjoy! I'm jealous.

Raim speakin of funny video's we ended up with company yesterday afternoon some friends of L's from Delavan. She had a vid of a small tree rat that would get picked on by the bigger ones every time it came to the feeder. After quite awhile it learned to flop over and play dead and they would leave it alone. It was hecklarious! A fainting squirrel!

Sounds like you put in a full day. Jim sounds like your making headway on your cart. Carefull there Bigz don't want to have a relapse! That's so funny about the tent for Peatwo! Was looking at him and thought for awhile that his tail feathers were dirty from dusting but their turning dark. He is such a joy!
love.gif
Was thinking about Buster too there's a guy about 2 miles from here that I know and he has some SLW's might go see if he wants a mean roo. I don't know what I did but I hope I get a choice between the costume and the tar and feathers.

Gaelio nice to have you join us! The BFF called and told us not to bother going fishing he was getting off the lake cause it sucked. Gonna try and get the machine shed cleaned out this morning then in to watch Indy. Better go let the kids out!

Morning, it's foggy here this am- the sun is starting to come out so the fog has started to lift a bit. Have to clean out the coop today- did half the pens yesterday and started a compost pile in 1 corner of the garden-hopefully this works better than our compost barrel we made
hmm.png

Omets for breakfast this am-DH is making them. Kids collected 10 eggs yesterday so the girls are doing good. Some of the boys will be heading to freezer camp today so that will help lower the numbers a bit. Than we can shift some girls so the 1 pen is less crowded

Enjoy the day!

Wow you guys! So much reading to do! So many busy people!

Welcome newbies!

Hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend; remember our vets!

I've got to get more of the garden planted today and find where my Khaki Campbells are able to escape the duck yard. None of the bigger birds get out, just these hens. I'm guessing they are flying or climbing over since they are lighter weight. They're always in the horse pasture when I go looking. I hate to clip their wings, but maybe it's something I just need to do.

It's almost 8:00! Can't believe I'm still inside. Yikes!
