Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Planted the window boxes and planters today, plus managed to get almost one entire side of my flower garden weeded (with help from yourngest DD). The little duckies are growing like weeds! They are now about the size of a normal sized baby duck at hatching time.

I put the chicken eggs in the hatcher; I'll post pics when I get onto the big computer. Amyable the fertility rate on these was just not as good as yours. Of the 15 eggs, I have 6 that are in the hatcher...... not due to quitters either. I'll crack them open when I am finished with the chickens and see how far they managed to make it (if they developed at all.....) Oh well, nature is not perfect. Calls are looking good, I have 12 looking really good in there!

FT, Mother Earth News has an interactive garden site as well with almost the same criteria. I can't wait to get to actually USE something like that! If you want rhubarb plants I can get you some. My MIL has TONS of plants of one of the older varieties (came with the 100 yr old farmhouse), so if anybody would like some I can dig some of it up and bring it to the bash.

Dr.H I hope Btwo kicked some butt!

I'll have to check the Mother Earth News site. Is is free or do you have to buy that one to??? I would love love some old time rhubarb !! That would be great. Then someday I'd actually have something to sell at the farmers market this time of year !!! since I didn't get my rear in gear for planting seeds !!!

Thanks so Much !!!

Up at the top of the page is a blank custom search box and a search button, there are probably several threads with information as to what you can use and how often. Good Luck!

Thanks, it sounds like there is no answer to my question or rather there are so many opinions on this you can do whatever you want.

From what I read, there are many different products people use with varying results. I guess you can read up on what people recommend and see what fits/works for you. That's why I recommended doing a search, someone I know deworms in fall when egg production is slowing down because when using certian de-wormers you can't eat the eggs for atleast 2 weeks. We haven't de-wormed ours yet but do provide DE(Diatamous Earth-food grade)for dust baths and dust for mites and such.

Neither they just kept looking at each other for about 5 minutes, then they just walked apart. The doe went through the front yard and HAD to stop and take a chunk out a little maple I transplanted last year. 400 million in the woods but that one was easy to get to.

That's cute! I was imagining your chicken going all kung-fu on the doe. We had a bear go through our yard recently, but thankfully it didn't notice my chickens.

Here's some of my baby guineas that I gave to the neighbor today

Anyone have idea of what colors they might end up to be? They come from a mixed flock of lavender, white, light brown, dark purple mix.

Lightbulb, fan, and jar of water (for maintaining the temp....)

I am not really thrilled with how the temp is maintained with the hot water heater thermostat. It does not kick the light bulb on until the temp is down to 95*....

I thought this was cute.....

Spooner, that's not to far from Rhinelander is it?

What kind of chickens are you getting? How many? Hope your coop is three times bigger then you need for the chicks you ordered !!! Because you will soon learn what chicken math is
