Sad news here today
hit.gif
our Jungle hen (Jane) was taken from us this A.M. Early before we left for work. Tarzan was going crazy and we went out to find only one wing of Janes and nothing else.

He is so lost without his girl. I don't know if I should put him with the girls yet they are only 7 weeks old ??? He is crowing outside the door when we came in. Poor guy. It was very windy here today blew stuff around but I think all is located and ready for more wind tomorrow from what I heard on the news. Susie
Will go back to read the pages from today a bit later. Hope all is well.

Oh, Susie, I am so sorry to hear that! That is just heartbreaking. Poor Tarzan.
I think it would be ok to put him in with your girls. My bantie roo was protective of our chicks, I think they were 8 weeks(?), but he didn't try anything with them until they were "mature". In fact, it was him who clued me in to who the first hen was that started laying.
Good luck to you & Tarzan. I hope his broken heart heals soon.

I had to read it to DH and we both smiled. Funny what we will do for a little chickie

I have a Nikkeii/Manpuchi chick here that I probably should rehome. The egg was accidently sent to me with an order of eggs of a different breed. I think it's just going to be too high strung to be hanging out with my big, fat orpingtons. What would be a reasonable price to sell it for?

I wasn't the dedicated chickie mom. It was a quote from a thread I was reading. Here it is, and it is an absolute riot.
(I am not endowed enough to do what she did).

I'm glad you & your hubby got a smile out of it, though.
