Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

You all are going to find out just how big an idiot I am at the Bash! I've seemed to have developed my own pronunciation of several breeds some are not even close. For instance Australopes are Astratopes. Kind of a dinasaur I think

Hey I can say Australopes! australopes australopes australopes. I gotta lotta work to do. You can correct me any time I won't be offended I'm used to being an idiot. I hate to say it but 8/9 today. I still miss mama.

Thanks for the tip fordmommy!

I cant believe I am the first one today! I really had to look for the Cheesehead board...it was WAY down the list! So good morning! Sun again yipeeee! I am driving to Milwaukee today to meet friends and see relatives. This is postponed from Tuesday when it was pretty nasty around here! I hit a record number of eggs yesterday...31! Not bad for 50 chickens---NOT! I need to ID those non-layers! What do you guys do to find them? I have ideas but not sure what I will do with them....

There you go!

Yep lots of sun...I love it! The flock ran right out at 9am when I opened the pop door.

Do you now how to do the butt test, you check the spread between the pubic bones on the outside of the chicken, you do not stick your finger in the bird

1 finger not laying, 2 fingers most likely laying, 3 fingers laying. but if your birds are older, under stress, or molting, figuring out who laying or not is hard, when in doubt don't cull

Another reasonable February day. The sunshine helps, thats for sure. I'm assembling wood in the storage shed and I have donated roofing materials. I'm working on some eggs for materials deals...hopefully I'll be wheeling and dealing for some plywood and 2X4s. Everyone have a great day!

Diving to the Milwaukee area myself today, then going to IKEA tomorrow for a girls day out!!!! YIPPEEE!!!!!!

I need a day to be an idiot....

Hello everyone!! I'm loving the sunshine! Really brings the mood up. Was outside with a sweatshirt and hat today cleaning out the coop. It's like 60 in there! With all my windows and sun out it really gets warm in there. This summer we will be installing a vent fan so it doesn't get to warm in there. Was taking pictures and I have to share one with you. Thought it was cute. Looks like they are eyeing each other up. Well I'm off. Take care everyone!

bl4 you should on my side of the fence of being an idiot. Can't imagine what it would be like just to try it for one day.

Neat pic Becky how'd you like to be privy to that convo? I speak a pretty good chicken but not a whinnie of horse. Unless of course it's the famous Mr. Ed! BBCB sounds like your on your way to bartering up a coop. Good idea! Gotta go get eggs, play with the kids a bit, fire up and move the tractor out into the drive for measurements, and bring in a wheelbarrow load of wood. The kids seemed rather inquizitive about the snow blower until the snow started coming their way. Peaches gave the warning call and they headed into coop enmass. The door is only big enough for one bird at a time. Take a number please!
