Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I'm up early. There's 1hr18min on some eggs I'm bidding on. Gotta make sure no one out bids me. I was up half the night worrying about it.

Babylady4, we stayed away from Wega yesterday because of the races. It seems we weren't the only ones. I can just imagine how busy the trails were over there if everywhere else was so busy.

Well-gotta see how thing's are going in the auctions.

Have a great day everyone!

Yah! I winned! I winned!!!!!!

I will have some White Orpingtons!!!! Yah!

Good Morning and Happy Valentine's Day! Congrats on your win Ford Mommy! That is neat--lotsa luck with hatching to you. We went out with friends last night and had lobster and prime rib--YUMMY! The lobster was tiny but it sure was flavorful...probably the best that I have had in a while. After we went to bed the snowmobiles kept me up for a while. They were racing around out there between the bars...I always think that they will crash and I will hear it--makes me stay up worrying!
Gorgeous sun again today. I am anxious to get out. Maybe take my horse out for a while. I have to go and look at a friend's cat today too. I guess it tore a pad on it's foot. She doesnt want to take it to emergency vet. I will see what I can do. Probably not any different than what the vet would do anyway...I dont think they stitch pads.
Well, better refill my coffee...DH drinks it so fast that I am lucky to get 2 cups when he is around! Happy Day everyone! Terri

Nope! No pad stitching. Just squirt some antibiotic cream in the cut, wrap with some gauze, and then that lovely horse wrap in all those fancy colors!!! I had to do that with my Boxer/Lab, she sliced open the big pad on her front foot. It was about 2 weeks of wrapping to get it to heal but we did it. The hardest part was keeping her quiet so the foot would heal, she kept opening the cut back up when she would try to play. She also ended up gaining a few pounds due to her inactivity.

Congrats Fordmommy on the win!!! I can't wait to see the pics of the babies!!!!

I hear the snowmobilers are still at it on the racetrack....... I really wish I was not in town, but I would not like having a trail by my house either. Snowmobiles are fun but I think I would prefer a four-wheeler.....

Dr. HaHa I am eating at your place.

We have a 4wheeler too. With a plow on it. That's how I plow. DH has a plow truck for if the snow's too heavy. We got an AWESOME deal on that. Right time, right place. On day I decided to take "long way home" and when we were driving past the Red Mill, DH saw a $wheeler down a side road for sale. We went back and asked about it. They wanted $900 for it and after talking a while they remembered there was a trailer and plow that went with it. And it has a wench on the front. It's a 2001 Polaris 400 I think. Blue book is $3500. There were just a few thinks wrong with it. Spent less than $200 to get the 4x4 working (gears were stripped) and changed a fuse to make the wench work and now it's like brand new. The sad part is.....the mother just needed money to pay her electric bill.

OK, For those of you "in the know"... I think I want to sell my eggs @ the Farmer Market, so tell me about requirements: costs/ permits/ etc. I only have the 10 girls, so it isn't a big production, anyone have experience & knowlegde regarding this? I live in Columbia Co. if that has any bearing on the situation... Bigzio...Purelypoultry...Anyone? Thanks!

Well went spearing today with two of my uncles they are 74 and 76 years old it's alot of fun they are great story tellers about their past experiences in life. I get to walk back and forth between shacks and shoot the breeze. We got a sturgeon today it was 57 lbs. Very cool first time I have ever been inside the shack when one was speared. Alot of excitment and brightens the day. Now I think I'm hooked and will have to start doing it myself. Life experience was great today!! Mike

first thing you need to do is check with the farmers market, when I looked into sell eggs in the Appleton market, I needed a pre-approved label, the permit through the state, a way to keep the eggs a 35 or 40 degrees there was something else but I can't remember. it was about 5 years ago I checked. the permit through the state is the hard one, but if you get it, you can sell eggs anywhere, even restaurants

Hello everyone! Sounds like everyone is having a busy weekend. I've been outside all weekend. Trimming goat hoaves and deworming everyone. Cleaning stalls and barn. Haven't done it for awhile so I'm behind. Helps that we don't have kids this weekend. All they do is slow us down with the complants.

Yesterday our neighbor down the road has a dairy goat farm and she called and wondered if we would like some of her fainters. She had 6, 2 of which orginnally came form us. It wasn't worth it to her to milk them so we got them. They are nice goats. They need a good brushing. She has such a big production there, 250 milking goats and that doesn't include kids that are beening born. That's alot of goats!! Last night DH took me shopping and then out to dinner at a nice italian place. It's been a really nice weekend.
Cedar post- That is really cool. My grandpa took me once when I was younger, can't say I really enjoyed it. I didn't really understand it, but I was only 6 or 7. I remember being cold and bored and we didn't see anything. Maybe it might be different now that I'm older.
Fordmommy-Congrats!!!

Dr Haha- I as well like any good music. Will listen to anything but rap or hip-hop. Don't really like heavy metal either. I want to be able to hear the words. Otherwise I'll listen to it.
Well take care everyone! I'm going to go ride the ponies before it gets to cold!

Good to hear that everyone is having a fine weekend, we went on a road trip to Chicago yesterday to go visit the Art Institute. It's free admission there for the month of February and it's been many moons since we've visited, so off we went. Enjoyed the AI, it was packed but we have a new really nice DSLR so we got some great pics of all of my favs, which was fun. I didn't think you could photograph the artwork but my DW just whipped out her camera and had at it. Fun.

Then off to Millenium Park for skating and goofing off, then found some deep dish pizza not far from there, stuffed ourselves and took a meandering ride home. A great February day. Today we picked up some supplies from Farm and Fleet and I am now ready for chicks, which will be here one month from now. Ready, Freddy.
