Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Turned out the cat did not have a torn pad. The cut was kind of a V on the foreleg. It was pretty well stuck down and on it's way to healing so I just cleaned it up, soaked it a bit in epsom salts and then smeared it up with triple antibiotic, put some gauze on and some tape, then vet-wrap. (purple!) It looked good. I gave him 1/2 cc of PennG to be repeated in two days and all was good. He enjoyed a couple of treats after the indignity of his treatment and he forgot all about it! I was glad it was not worse, you can never tell with a phone call. I dont have any of those prethreaded stitching needles on hand...I ned to get some of those! Then I will be all set to try crop surgery if the need arises. Have you seen that thread? Fascinating!

Just saw the record sturgeon on the news! And to think that I heard it first, right here on the cheesehead board! Way cool--that thing was sure BIG. I couldnt imagine!

Well, I guess I am making French Toast for dinner. I have so many eggs I do not know what to do with them all! So French Toast it is...anybody have some good ideas that use say...a dozen eggs?
Good day! Terri O

Terri O, you could add a little nutmeg to the eggs of the French Toast. Ahhhh! The best. Sometimes I even put a little vanilla cream cheese filling in between 2 slices. To die for.

Hard boiled egg sandwiches for lunch? Deviled eggs?

You know what I do when I have too many eggs in the fridge.....I did this yesterday......I make scrambled eggs for the chickens with the shells crumbled and mixed in. And I had bought HUGE strawberries at Walmart the other day. I saved all the greens and cut offs. When the eggs were done, I stirred the strawberry stuff in too. THEY LOVED THAT!!!! For my 11 chickens I used 6 eggs. My broody loved the eggs too. I served them to her "in bed". (in the nesting box

I'll be call on you if I even need some crop surg. I saw that thread. I was really informative. But I would want to see it live before I did that to one of my babies.

Good Evening....Whew what a busy week-end everyone has had!

Good Luck with all the egg hatching going on. It's that exciting time of year again, that makes raising poultry so much fun. Maybe the Black Copper Marans will make it into the APA Standard Of Perfection this year?

BBCB, My youngest daughter was planning on going to college At the Art Institute until she found out that they didn't have on campus housing. Being only 17 and never away from home. She felt that living in Chicago and riding public transit daily back and forth, was more than she wanted to deal with..... bummer, however I don't blame her decision either.

chicksalot...good advice from BCC. The farmers market you plan to sell at might be able to answer all your questions. If not then give your county courthouse a call, and have the extention agent send you the information you'll need.

Me & Suzie watched the Nascar Daytona 500 today. It was great finish.
It's fun to see someone new win the big race. McMurray was crying, he was so grateful for winning. That finale was a joy to watch.

Good morning everyone! This crazy dog I am watching has finally decided that, "if I am the only one in the house I guess it would be OK for me to jump up on your chair." I am watching a very insecure, very fluffy dog for a woman that is on vacation. He attached himself to DH for the weekend and now that he is at work for the week he is my "buddy." So he can lie on my legs for 15 minutes and then I am off to work...just one more cup of coffee...I am glad it is a short day today! The sun is out and I have work to do in the coop. The wind has blown on the south of the building and loosened the plastic I have over the windows. Staple gun to the rescue! Here's hoping the sun will melt some of the ice this week. I lost my balance on it yesterday and soaked my coveralls! YUK! Goose poop everywhere....oh yeah--I better get them in the dryer too! Have a great day all! TErri O

Helloo everyone! Actually had a good day at work today. But then again I was gone for most of it. Hmmm. TerriO use some wood lathe or thin scrap boards around the edges it'll help keep the plastic from tearing. 3 out the 5 of my guys on the race pool got taken out on lap 8. I donated again. Oil well. Egg production sure has fluctuated. 4 one day 8 the next, then 5 then maybe 7. Think we all need to feel some sunshine in our faces and green grass between our toes.

Keene's coop , there are few of us near you.

As for the Meet-n-Greet...this is our first. We are in the process of planning it. So far we have about 44+ people. We are having it at Hartman Creek State Park, in Waupaca, just 45 min from you. We have reserved a shelter there and are planning a Potluck style lunch. And it's June 12th. So far that's about all the details. Oh. Babylady4 is having a sign made. We want to have an elephant gift exchange and some raffles. And games for the kids. Everyone is invited. Like I said. Still planning.

Well-my broody gave up this morning. She broke 1 egg. It was not good anyway. I put the other girl on them, but they were not staying warm enough. Louise kept bawking, but wouldn't sit on them. After I switched them, I gave Louise a bath. She was a MESS! Put her back out with the rest and she went right to sitting again. Soooo.........I put the 5 eggs BACK under her, gave Lucy some golf balls. Louise seems to be doing fine now after her bath. They are supposed to hatch tomorrow! I know that there was one egg that I really didn't think that there was something in. But I wasn't quite sure. I hope that was the only one. They are just so dark!

Well-I'll give them until Wednesday evening. If nothing happens......
