Good afternoon all!

Welcome to anyone new who arrived while I was away.

Carol and Jim, so sorry about your losses. Jess, hope bf is fairing better and it's nothing serious.

Spent about 15 minutes last night watching mama raccoon and her three babies play in the orchard behind us. They are so cute and yes, I know down the road I'll probably be cussing the little critters, but I have a special fondness for them, as we raised a baby when I was a kid, whose mom was killed and he was found clinging to her lifeless body. Ever since then I can't get too upset with them.

IF I can make the bash.. (will try to know by tomorrow) I'd love some rhubarb and asparagus. And I'll try to figure out something I can make that would be edible

Things are going along about as well as can be expected (delays, delays, delays) with the settling in. Did get a 3 tomato plants in pots (neighbor brough over giant pots for me to use, did I mention she's a real peach?) and just got some dirt to plant 3 pepper plants, that will have to suffice as my garden this year. Neighbor has garden surrounded with electric solar powered fence, said it's the ONLY way we'll be able to garden here, between deer, coons, possums, ground hogs, gophers, said we'll be lucky to get anything. Won't stop me from trying!

Neighbor also offered remains of old kennel to us if we could use it, told her it would be great for the chicken run, soon as I have a chance I'll drag it over.

I'll have to try to get on here at least 2 x's a day from here on out or I'll spend 1/2 the day trying to catch up!

Well, better get back to unpacking and then pot up those peppers before it starts raining.

Afternoon All....just started the first batch of venzun jerky. Makes the whole house smell goody! It should be done by 10pm. Then tomorrow I'll make another batch.

Forgot to mention that anytime Friday afternoon is ok to arrive at camp. I'll need to unlock the main gate and doors. If anyone knows about what time they will arrive, I'll show you around and then you can help others as they arrive. I'm only a couple minutes away, if I'm needed.

hey bigZ is there a kitchen there or should everything be made before hand? thinking of needing an oven?
DrH, how much BBQ are you bringing? i forget. lol some are wondering about how much main dish (BBQ) we will have. oh and what does noodles mean? you have listed that ur bringing some noodles. lol
Im bringing some hot dish too just don't know what yet.

Yep, the kitchen has a range and microwave, toaster, coffee pot, fridge. Are you still gonna make it Friday raim? The shelter also has plug ins for slow cookers etc...

Hi all! Just waiting for Carol to show up...maybe I should call her?

BigZ me and DH are planning on leaving early afternoon on Friday--hopefully!~ I am trying to get ready...so much to do.
We went to Blue Mounds State Park for a picnic yesterday with some neighbors...it was really fun to go somewhere else for a change. THen we went and visited Cave of the Mounds--it was my first time there--FANTASTIC! It was kinda pricey but what a neat tour it was. That would be some kind of freaky to blast on your farm and find something like that for sure!

OK--I am so hot from sitting here and reading I must go outside and look at the garden...stuff is coming up!!! Later! Terri O

DrH 10 lbs sounds good, how many buns is needed for 10lbs of BBQ? hmm i'm bringing a box of buns so probably 10pks? 10x8=80 that should be enough?...... maybe I'll go count heads........... 61ish

Someone near me is selling buff, black and regular pheasant chicks for $1 each! If they didn't take off when they grew up I would get some. I love the blacks.

Yep, should be coffee filters there...I can bring some extras and coffee. Yep, a couple park type grills, and another that can be used over the fire pit. I'm gonna bring my med size weber too. Should I bring pickles?
