Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Thanks for sharing the pics Doc. Yep you are right amyable about who's who.
Sorry to hear about your loss sf. May Will's good friend rest in peace. Really sad for sure.
If I was guessing Elaine, I would say it's a light brahma/polish cross.

I always love white elephant games, the game itself is so much fun and funny gifts are always a surprise. I now have enough potatoes for all the kids too. They will love that, always happy to share our veggies etc. with the kids.
Wish we could have stayed longer at the bash, my t shirt has no names

and I would have loved to talk more with all of you. Thanks again to all of those who made it happen

We are working on the other half of the kitchen and removed a window and put in a patio door this weekend, DH had to do some re routing of wires but it's in and drywall around it. It looks out to the woods and is a great addition. We picked strawberries yesterday a.m. and I cleaned them and froze most for later jams etc. Rained a bit here but not enough so will have to water tomorrow. My friends are also amazed that we went to a party to meet chicken people

they just don't get it.

Wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Have a good night, Susie

Picked up 4 more chicks from Barlracer today; cute little black fluffballs! Amyable, if you will need a roo I would be happy to trade you one for a hen (I don't think I was that lucky that I could get all hens out of 8 chicks). Anyway, when I brought the babies home I put them out in the lawn right away; they are one week old had never seen the grass before and totally freaked! Stood there shell-shocked in a group quietly twittering..... then I brought out the 4 week old chicks. The babies thought the bigger chicks were safety so they ran over to them; the bigger chicks were looking at them like 'What the heck are you?'. I think I'll let them hang out together outside, but separate them while they are under the heat lamp.

Raimnel; the teen boy participating in the White Elephant was my oldest son.

BigZ, since I am still experimenting and working out the kinks I feel it would not be right to take money for the soap (that is why I gave it away). Who really knows how that coffee soap will smell in four weeks?

My recipe is the Essentials Bar from the Soapmaking Companion book, I just substitute the goat milk for the water. I use the recipes from that book since they are smaller batches (5lbs). I will be selling some day so get it for free while you can!

I also don't remember when I can try out the soap???? Thanks again for that nice gift. I'll have to find my own unique talent and bring it next year to impress everyone !!! At least I have about 362 days to decide what that might be !!!

We're getting so big here that we'll have to have different Districts throughout the state of WI. Glad we're District 1 right? Easy to remember !!!

Anyway, This is all I have. First picture was taken before I went outside and started drinking Bartles & James wine coolers....... Second picture is of the bunks that everyone that couldn't drive home (us) needed to crash in for the night. Don't worry. There were two bunk rooms, Jim had one all to himself.........Remember he carries a big sword !!!

The rest of the pictures were taken just before we left. I thought those that didn't get to see the nice campground would like to see where all the 2011 Bash Memories were made !!

I have a new broody

So, does anyone in the Green Bay/Fox Cities area have dark egg layers? I'd buy some hatching eggs or swap some Norwegian Jaerhon eggs.

BL4, I have one Blue roo from Jim, gotten at last year's Bash, so I am good on that. Hoping hoping hoping that the 2 remaining chicks will be girls.

FT, we have to wait 4 weeks to use the soap

Thanks, bigzio! I think you're right, haven't heard back from the woman I got the eggs from but she did think some of them were Polish.

Re: WI Bash, Part 2 - I think we should let all the partiers recoup for a couple weeks, then I'll broach the subject of a second, smaller one day bash in So. WI again & will help organize it. Feel free to PM if you want to be part of the planning committee or have ideas you can't wait to share. I've been looking at the calendar and thinking about possible dates: 3rd weekend in August (before the final push to get kids ready for school); Labor Day weekend (more people might be available but we'll probably be dealing with crowds) or around Columbus Day in October. There's pros and cons to all these proposed dates. My personal experience is that things really get busy for families with kids once school starts... No need to respond now just keep those dates in mind. I'll bring this up again mid-July and see if we can't get this party started....

I got the mother duck and ducklings moved to a safer (I thought) location & removed the last 5 unhatched eggs, but one of the babies excaped. (There's 5, 4 light colored, 1 dark, they're adorable!!) I grabbed the baby to put it back and boy did the mom get po'd! She body slammed the side of the duck run TWICE and scared the bejesus out of me and I was really worried she was going to hurt herself. I grabbed this quick photo and snuck the baby back in without the mom seeing me & patched where I think it got out. They are SOOO CUTE!

OK I just read 4 pages.. I can hardly focus my eyes anymore..

Brent, the whisk had a white handle, the spoon is a large mixing spoon like they had in the army,, just all stamped metal, and the turner was just a cheapo plastic one..No big deal,, None of them are worth losing sleep over..
I just figured somebody hid them so I couldn't make any more pancakes..

I am still tired tonight.. One bash a year is enough for me.. LOL

the turkey hatched out 10 guineas babies.. the chickens in the coop should be due at this same time. we will have to a thorough search tomorrow..

I sold a jake royal palm tonight.. someone just called and said do you have any ? yup !! they came right on over..

the plumber did not show up while I was at the bash, so I spent a good part of this afternoon completely changing all the guts in the toilet.. took the tank completely off and put everything in new.. that should last until after I die, I hope.. 30 years is not a short time.. I will be 98 then.. somebody else can fix it..

I also picked up a double screened door for the swinging patio doors.. Annie wants LOTS of air.. I should tell her to just go outside..

Otonoh, nobody had pullets for me to buy for you like you wanted.... I PM'd you..
