That's just awful.

TO, do you still have any of your Ancona roos? Mine attacked me from behind this morning; I was no where near him or his hens, I was even putting feed out. Didn't see him coming, luckily no broken skin. What a nasty, sneaky, ungrateful wretch!
somad.gif
Chased him around the yard with a bucket for a few minutes, but it will be off with his head very shortly!!
rant.gif
Are yours any better behaved? Maybe we could trade roos when Julie and I come visit, a d'Uccle for an Ancona?

Have to laugh at all the Bash recovery stories. Where are the pics??

Well, I got the beautiful Rooster Cutting Board Na na na NA na na !!!!! I love it. Goes along with my rooster theme around here !!! At least this one I don't have to feed. We needed a cutting board too .. Hope it makes it in one piece so I can bring it back next year !!! Or NOT !!! LOL

Sure, Jim has a Tshirt that Nobody signed !!!! What the heck are we going to do with you Jimbo !!!

Well, I've been on a search for a draft size forecart on Craigslist all day !!! Posted a want ad as well and have gotten calls and emails already. There is a woman down in Seymour that has a whole barn full of sleds, buggies and wagons but no forecarts. There might be a sled I'm interested in but there goes another 200 mile round trip. We figured our milage and we only got 11.78 mpg hauling that horse trailer down and back to the bash.

I had it filled to the brim with free roosters but nobody came running when I announced "FREE ROOSTERS" Come and get um !!!!

Good thing cause when we looked inside there were all gone. Must have flew the trailer on our way down !!! Hope they all found good homes along the way !!!

Really, in case anyone was wondering why we brought the stock trailer was because we stopped in Birnamwood to buy a draft size forecart. Chuck took one look and said no he didn't want it. So I asked if they would take less and they said no and that they had paid $400 for it two years ago and would only go down to $375 !! The wife said they only had it a year ????

So, I didn't get my cart so have nothing to drive my Belgian mare in. I thought maybe by Sunday on our way home Chuck would have changed his mind or the woman would have called me and taken less but no such luck. The only problem I could find was that it needed brakes to slow the thing down. Remember I'm a beginner horse driver so brakes are important.

So back to the drawing board. One guy called me today from Tomahawk and is going to send me pictures tonight. Has a real nice cart with BRAKES for $900. Guess it was made for someone in a wheelchair so it would be nice for getting in and out of. I don't want one of those meadowbrook carts. They look very nice but they call the death carts? I think something like that !! You have to climb over the shafts or seat to get in. Once you're in you're ok but if you need to bail out,,,,, forget it. Say bye bye !!!
But a real horseman or woman should never bail out !!!! Ride it out they say !!!

So, when you guys don't hear from me anymore you'll know I found a cart and may have run off into the sunset, willingly or not !!!!!!!

So, back to feeding and watering the chickens. Conned Chuck into delivering the eggs to Wabeno. I'll go to Rhinelander tomorrow !!!!

Thanks for all the stories, folks! It's the next best thing to being there. Humm, so it sounds like hangovers could be part of the sleep deprivation/tiredness of everyone, eh? Next up: Pictures!! Where are the pictures??

(Thanks to those who have posted some.) I'm really glad to hear everyone had such a great time!

Sweet Folly, I'm sorry for your loss. Losing someone we care about is never easy but it seems even more painful when they're young and haven't lived a full life. I hope you and Will get through this difficult week okay.

Hey, was there talk of a second bash this year somewhere in So. Wisconsin? Remind me of what's in the works or did I dream that? (Good gosh, if I'm dreaming this stuff I'm in serious trouble.) I'm thinking it'd be good to have a one day bash somewhere in Dane Co (Madison area) - State or County Park perhaps? Share a potluck meal,buy/sell/trade birds and animals, plant exchange & maybe even a white elephant exchange, too.

Maybe some weekend in August before the kids go back to school? Any interest in a bash like this? I'd attend a one day event if it was closer to home... It's an awful lot to get done in one day but just think of all the fun we'd have!

Well, I've got to go figure out how to move the Mother duck & ducklings. She's NOT going to be happy with me but I need to get her nest moved & get rid of the eggs that haven't hatched. I peeked last night and there's at least 5 ducklings and all the eggs I saw were showing the telltale signs of being rotten... Need to get those out of here!

Later.
Elaine

Just wanted to check in with you all and can't wait to see pictures from the bash! I have been without internet for a week and it looks like I have some MAJOR reading up to do... or I will maybe just skip the 30 or so pages and call it good....

Can't wait to see pictures from the bash!

Good afternoon all!

SF- so sorry about the loss of your friend. That is just so tragic. Please pass on my condolences to Will.

Elaine-your not dreaming! There was mention of trying to get a second bash in So Wis. I can't remember who said it or if anyone wanted to try to organize a "get together". I'd go for sure.

Thanks to everyone for Bash stories! I wish I had skipped the wedding and gone to the Bash instead! Am I a bad person for having said that!?!

I am so there next year!!

Emma is still on the nest but I think I'm gonna have to make a choice on which eggs to keep. She seems to have trouble keeping all 6 under her. Three bantams or three large fowl....choices choices....Maybe three bantams and two LF...or maybe two bantam and two LF....
barnie.gif
And NO NO NO!!! I am NOT going to fire up the incubator....NOT gonna do it!!!

Well sitting here waiting on the rain that I don't think will get here....gotta go get the grocery list made out and the coupons all organized. Hey, if I have any coupons that I don't need or use, does anyone want them? Let me know and I can mail the to you!!

Ta ta!!

Good Afternoon All.... Yep, like raim said. Where do I start?
It was a great week end Bash because of all of YOU! I had a really good time seeing old friends, and meeting new ones. Thanks for making the Bash well worth the effort. The free will offering worked out great with the amount needed covered, as well as a additional $16 donation to the camp from the Cheeseheads...again, Thank You. Some folks were more than generous, again Thanks!

Thanks for the soap bl4...Suzie is a happy camper! I should of bought the rest, if that was possible? Suzie wants to know if it's hard to make, or can you share a recipe?

The shirts are great. I failed to get everyone to sign my shirt. I have 11 siggys. How many do some of you have on yours? Who has the coveted shirt with all the siggys on that attended?

Managed to get camp cleaned up no problem with the help from Terri and Derrick...you two are the best. I hope you held hands all the way home! Did you find your cover Terri ?

Really nice surprise to see fordmommy and jeff. He is always fun to talk to. I like cars too!

Suzie J...you are a doll! Love that smile.

Jim, sorry I missed your departure. Suzie knows what the whisk looks like. What color handles are the flipper and the spoon? I'll go down there and get them back to you. Before next year, for sure.

Nice to see whippet and jennifer. The hot dogs were great.

I was glad everyone enjoyed the venzun. I had fun talking with Chuck. I can talk hunting for hours too.

I never thought of taking the camera. Stupid is as stupid does.

Hope you and L had as much fun as me and Suzie Doc Ha Ha. I'm starting to feel alittle better now. I think I need to lighten up a little more next year.
