Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good evening! Carol, you are hysterical!!! That pic makes you look like you are wrapped up as a white elephant gift!

Jim, you'd better watch out....not saying what I might do to you either!
I emailed the pics to Raimnel...I hear I have a new admirer because I know how to make scrambled egg with NO YOLK! I am so tired...started walking another dog today...
I have a bunch of pics from the bash but I have to weed out my pic file before I can upload any more...way too tired to try to figure out photobucket tonight.
Yes Amy I have 4 Ancona roos. THey are all ready to go home with you. Never have tried to attack me or anyone else. OK--I really better head up to bed...I might start typing multiple letters over and over (like some other people) otherwise! Good night! Terri O

OK... guess I was more tired than I thought when I posted....

and there was a few other things that didn't really mater. BTW... the" uninvited guests" I mentioned were ANTS! TG they weren't ticks! We didn't find any ticks, even on the dog. Sorry to here at least one of you found them.

But when we were packing up and then unpacking we found quite a few ants.
hmm.png
Only downside of the whole time there! Anyone else find some unwanted guest?

Dornes... Any luck on labeling those chickens yet? I do think a picture is in order!

FT really wish you could get your sleep issues straightened out! Had fun talkin chine tool with Egg Toast! Seems to be quite a few chineist in the group. Bigz and Susie thanks so much for the huge amount of work you guys did to make this happen think we need more than one white elephant. Like I said I thought people would be up and moving sooner [TO] so we could have helped with the clean up more! Sorry if you feel like we let you guys down, didn't mean to. I really like Dave's feed mix might have to figure out a way for bulk storage and make a haul. In my spare time
lau.gif
Had Ven roast with Jim's famous pancakes
droolin.gif
SF that is just so sad about Will's friend! Glad you guys made the trip! Cind got those roots in yesterday now I'll be checking daily to see if they come up.
gig.gif
Peatwo was very happy to see me we had to have a few moments to ourselves.
hugs.gif
Buster was PO'd to the max he doesn't like being jailed.
somad.gif
Fric and Frac are settling in nicely. They got their names on the way home. Depending on how they develop they might get "N's" added to their name. Points Points! Still think we need a points exempt section.
gig.gif
Everyone made introductions and Peatwo and Buster impressed the heck out of them
lau.gif
Fric is for sure a roo but having doubts about Frac. We'll see. Susie"J" was thinking your face might hurt after the white elephant thing. You were laughing nonstop. But that's a good thing! polla37 that sucks about your slw's! What the H? Wish you could have stayed longer! TO and Derrick thanks for helping with the clean up! It was sooo good to see you two again! As always! Pay no attention to Jim you know how HE is.
lau.gif
Jim thanks again for being the B'fast chef it really hit the spot! And all the great stories. So much more to remember but I guess it'll come in bits and pieces for the rest of my life. Trimmed the shrubs along the driveway which led to mowing which was the worst that I can remember. Man that was bad! Then in to try and get the kitchen sink to drain. All my efforts failed. Guess I'll be down in the crawl space very soon. Of course it's about the only pipe that didn't get replaced

Heading to the woods this morning still shooting for the end of the month to fill the shed. It's gonna be close. Close Ward close. 1941. [Movie]. I was right some of the spinach bolted last weekend. Better go let most of the monsters out. Enjoy the great day!

Well Good Morning All,
I am off ( I know.. I have always been a little off)... to feed horses and get the 3 yr old ready for his big day, today is his first "ride", he will be sat on by a gal I hired strictly for the job.
She will get 4 rides on him. 2 sit/walk for 5 mins, then 2 ride rides.... Then its my turn....
My client wants him broke, but wanted me to find a rider. I will be re-imbursed for today, he will pay in the future. He is on maneuvers right now.

Laters!
Carol

French Toast,
That is me, Dooner and my DW Peggy. We left shortly after younarrived. We stuck around until the white elephant was done. peggy had brochitis, so we needed to get home as she wasnt feeling the best. Now I am on antibiotics as well. Oh well.

Good morning! I am on pins and needles today....waiting for my new torts to arrive! They are supposed to be here by 10AM . I tried to track them but it wouldnt give me any info--says that number is not in our system? What the he!! ???? If something happened to them I dont know what I will do...or the woman from NY either! I am so nervous about this....

Got up to cackling and rooster alarms last night about 3AM...the war is ON! I found my best lavender guinea freshly killed at the base of the tree...I mean I surprised the critter cause the blood was still running out of her! SHe was HOT to the touch. Man was I POed! I put her in the trap along with the cat food that was already in there...nothing this morning. She was in the tree (dumb bird) but this looked more like a coon attack than an owl. Just a few puncture wounds at the neck...hard to tell I guess cause I surprised the thing...there was a bit of a musty/skunky type odor about. ANy other ideas? THink I will be breaking out the Malarin and coke for a nice cocktail tonight! If it would have gone into the trap I probably would have released it somewhere else--too bad, so sad!

I am going to upload a few pics now so I will be back....Terri O

Good morning all! Sounds like everyone had a wonderful time at the bash (I'm not at all surprised!). Sure wish I could have made it.

SF, so sorry to hear about your friends passing. My condolences to you and Will.

MLH, thanks for the offer of help. I had forgotten you were so close to me.

DH checked himself out of the hospital the very day he was admitted (he does this cra* frequently). He had a doctor who would listen to nothing he told him, and even dismissed the reports he had from the other cardiologists, which showed that every time DH has needed angioplasty or the balloon every test they did indicated there was nothing whatsoever wrong. He was supposed to go back the next day to pick up his meds (the pharmacy there was closed by the time he checked himself out), but of course found something else to do... and said he'd get them Monday as he had an appointment then anyway. Was under the weather (something he ate Sunday) so didn't make that appointment, said he would go Tuesday to get them... yup, didn't go then either.
barnie.gif
Obviously nothing the doctor said registered with him. Although he did go on the patch and hasn't had a cigarette since the day after he checked himself out, which is something I guess. He's in Chicago now, hopping a plane to Boston to take care of some business and will be back Saturday, so hopefully next Monday he'll go get the darn meds. Personally I give up and hereby relinquish any role in attempting to get him to comply and place his health above everything else, after 10 years of trying I'm worn out
hu.gif

As for the second bash in So. WI, might have been Celtic who mentioned it, as she and I had discussed it. Personally I'll vote for anytime during WARM weather. Not sure I'll survive my first winter her and can't imagine trying to enjoy the outdoors in any way shape or form in October! Yes, I'm a wimp and PROUD OF IT!!! Heck, today I'm wearing a light sweatshirt! I'll be happy to help in any way I can to organize, etc.

Looking forward to some pictures that identify who is who as I've never met any of you folks and would like to be able to put faces to names.

Have to go back and find the post about Carol's adventures, didn't go back far enough and it sounds like a good read.

The deaf dog we got is going back. He has more issues than we can deal with. It's apparent at some point he was treated poorly and he tend to become a handful when he can't have his way. He also becomes fixated on things and it's nearly impossible to break that train of thought. Our min. schnauzer is leery of him and doesn't wish to socialize with him (must sense the imbalance there) and new dog has acutally roughly pinned him to the ground on more than one occassion. They told me he has no agression issues, but...without some serious training and time there's big potential for it. He is not good with small animals and I can't subject my two cats and Murphy to this chaos as we try to work through it with him. The other day he saw another dog and when we wouldn't let him interact with it, he turned on Rod, NOT a good sign. They are trying to find someone to meet me in Chicago, but if they can't I guess I'll just drive him back the 300 miles. They told me I had the option of taking him in and having him put down, but I can't do that. He's not a bad guy, he just needs a good trainer with a lot of time to devote to him to help him overcome his obsessive cycles and the remanents of any abuse he's suffered. I think in the end he could be a great dog, just not the dog for us. Breaks my heart, all things said and done we really like him, but at this stage I couldn't trust him with my pets or grand children. So far I've been lucky and quick enough to be able to put him on his side when he acts up without getting bit, but he did draw blood on Rod once already
sad.png
but at 54 lbs he has to be taken seriously even though his intention is more playful than mean spirited.

Well, off to try to dig up all the hostas from the front yard and get rid of them and put in the ornamental grasses. Did managed to pot up 3 tomato plants and 3 pepper plants... my sorry little garden this year! I'm still trying to figure out where to put what around what little yard I have left after putting in the dog fence and alloting space for a coop and run for the chickens that I probably won't get until next year

Just don't seem to have enough time to take care of everything we need/want to do around here at the moment. Ahhh well... so it goes.

Have a great day all!

Deb
