loadsofeggs!

So Vicky, what have you named the baby, or is he still Pepper? How is the Juvie hen doing? How is Julie doing with little Bee? Raimnel, how is the pair at your place?????? (Kids want to know, and I have a soft spot for little Bee......)

FM, I had to go back and look at the group pic after the 'beady eyes' comment..... you hit that nail on the head!

Frizz, I did NOT forget about your asking for calls, I just don't have the colors you are asking for. I will be having another batch hatching soon so contact me then if you still want some. Taffy has 11 eggs under her and she is doing a fantastic job at being a mamma.

You guys down south planning your horse trail ride????? Can I come too?????? Borrow a well behaved oh-my-gosh-there-is-an-idiot-on-my-back horse?????

BL4 those 2 calls are lovin life here, I got the duck coop all cleaned out for them, hopefully in no time I'll be able to come get some friends for them.
big_smile.png

fl.gif

I'm setting up the "run" area for them tomorrow, I set up the pool for them and let them swim some today, of course I had to go in to get them out.

BL4, With all the LOUD noise this little call is making, I'm guessing that she's a girl! We've named her Stefania (Little Stefi). If she's a boy, well, I guess he'll be Stefano.

She goes everywhere with me, and will be sleeping in my bedroom until she doesn't need a mama so much. She's already started wandering off with the big ducks, and forgetting about me, so I don't think it will be long before she's on her own. You and your kids did a great job raising her up.....she's quite the delight. It's fascinating that my Blue Swedish always walks up to her and watches her, like she senses the kinship in their similar coloring.

Yes, that's right!

BL4, Julie borrowed my baby name book, picking names for her duckies. They're all doing great, far as I know.

Looking at the group pic, I think we have lots more than last year.

Uber Beautiful Evening All!
What an absolutely gorgeous day it was today! Kinda makes up for the yuck weather! The birds we sun bathing, dust bathing, chattering, and yelling for treats all day today!
Oh! I have a Buzzy Update! Buzz is growing her tail!!! It is so cute and scrawny looking. I will take her pic and post it tomorrow! I'll also take one of Cornie. The jury is still out on whether Cornie is a Cornelius or a Cornelia. But Cornie is huge!! And sassy....

Ok, so....
I love the Bash stories and the pics! Love TO's cake. It looks sooooo gooooood!!

I don't remember who asked? but if y'all need help in planning a So Wis bash, I'd be willing to help/be on a or the committee. The only weekend I have an event already is Sept. 10. That is the weekend that Mad City Chickens is having their Tour De Coop aka The Coop Tour. Other then that, I've got nothing going. So I vote we don't plan the So Wis Bash on Sept 10th!!!

As hard as it is to give him back, you are doing the 100% right thing. It's tough when the dogs have so much baggage from their previous life, and sometimes they never really recover. Your safety and the safety of your family both human and furry has to come first. As hard as it is to let him go back, you are to be commended for giving him a chance to get in the right home where he can get the help and patience he will need to become the dog you know he could be. I've done rescue work and have had dogs come back that were not the "right fit" for the family that adopted them. Invariably, those same dogs always got adopted by the family that fit them better, where they could thrive and finally find the peace that they need. I will say good luck prayers tonight for him.

Oh yeah one more thing here, Emma has taken the "which eggs to keep" question out of my hands! She kicked out 1 Large Fowl and 2 Bantam eggs. So she is setting rather grumpily of 2 Large Fowl eggs and 1 Bantam egg. So, hopefully she will not kick anymore out of her nest and she can get down to business! Good gravy! Here I though incubating my own eggs was stressful! If she kicks all the eggs out then I'll just...

Well, I'm gonna go get some ice cream and play some more Angry Birds.... Night everyone!

Good evening! Just got back from work about 6:30! I took the morning off so I could get the torts settled in their domain. I have to go out and check them...they are under heavy security!
lau.gif
These will NOT be taking a "vacation" into the wild. THey are very different from Stuart and Monty...I am waiting to hear their original names to see if they fit. Otherwise I will just have to wait until they tell me what they want their names to be! It was very strange but my aquatic turtle was at the fence edge after I brought the torts out to the enclosure...I wonder if she remembers Stuart? They always "talked" through the fence....weird.

So I am going to try and get the guineas to go into the coop tonight before dark. They did the night after I lost the banty...if I get out there soon they might just go...then at least I know they will be safe. My little call hen has kicked out two eggs from under her...both were no good. I sure hope I get at least ONE out of them this year! I am setting the hookbill eggs under my hen turkey and broody B.O. tonight. I am going to give them 3 and 3...we will see who does better! (that's what those pretty blue eggs were right SF? Dutch Hookbill?)

Tomorrow will probably be really HOT--we have to get hay and unload it. DH is staying in MS until Thursday now...I guess he has to go back next week too. The guy he placed down there up and quit!
OK--I am off to read and reply to more emails...gotta order those new waterers that BigZ showed me too. They are slick!

Good night all! Terri O

(PS) Carol if you text me at 6:30AM again I will reach through the phone and

Had to share this. Giselle is so cute with our new baby, Stefi.

Stefi is named after DS Tom's girlfriend, who wanted a duck named after her too. So we have lil Tommi and lil Stefi. Silly, I know. Good thing you guys are all so forgiving
