Good morning! That is one scary story David! I have three that are out and about at night and I dread having a late night phone call! Thank God he is OK for sure. Good idea to take him to the ER just to be on the safe side. My neighbors boy did the same thing down the road from us last week. His truck it totaled but he didnt have a scratch either. (we have some of those ditches here too) The guardian angels seem to be working overtime for sure!

I thought it would be raining here for sure today...it actually looks like the sun might be trying to come out! I think I will use the day to do the same thing that Jim is doing...picking up the stuff in the yard before it freezes down! I have some garden hoses to get rolled up too. The yard always looks better in the spring if you pick it up a bit before the snow flies!

One of the cats is now in the basket of Christmas greens I have on my table! Guess I am going to have to kick him out and redo the basket--again! Speaking of pets...I just watched a thing about the dangers of feeding your dogs/cats a commercial diet...scary stuff! Unfortunately you just never know what to believe when you hear/read it on line. LIke a person has that much time to research all of that stuff...geez.

Guess I better get moving on the day...as my friend is always saying--daylight's burning! Have a great Saturday everyone! TerriOheadingforanothercuppa

Good Mornin'

Couldn't get a connection all morning out here, Had to come sit in the car with the 9mo old and watch the chickens, nothing wrong with that! He's getting tired though. I could just use the family's computer but I'm kinda stubborn. My aircard gets that way sometimes. Chickens over in the neighbor's yard again, way back in the unkempt field portion, screw it, I don't think they care, guess I'll find out,,,

David, thank Goodness your boy is ok, we all know that's the important part. Still, blessings to replacing the car and gettin past it.

good AM again, all chores done.. added some shavings to one nest.. of course it was not the nest that Annie wanted shavings in.. so, do it yourself ..

we had a slight disagreement as to when these chicks were hatched.. I am thinking early Oct.. she says early Nov.. It seems to me that I have had them penned up longer than that.. but as usual,, she is prolly right..

One morning when our 3 kids were heading off to school, Annie watched our son pull out of the driveway and get smacked by a school bus.. she is never one to lose it, but that is one time I heard her scream.. None of the kids were hurt.. I can't recall the damage to the car .. It didn't matter at the time and it still doesn't ..

I think I will take the camera out and see what I can capture to send to you..

I started eating right today.. I had oatmeal w/raisins , without sugar and a strong cup O green tea.. Annie cleared off the coffee table of EVERYTHING >> No candy in sight.. I thanked her for it.. maybe she wants me to live after all..

breakfast is the easy meal.. now I have to figure out what to eat for lunch and supper.. maybe more oatmeal ?? I suppose eggs benny is out of the question..

Morning all,

Thanks for the wishes, Dear son is moping and sore. He claims he was driving slowly but he has been burning rubber and we were supposed to get him new tires today. I guess Dad was right. We looked at a few cars this am, will look some more tomorrow when the used car vultures, I mean salesmen aren't around. We found a couple that look ok, Came home to do checks on them and see if there have been major problems with them and their actual blue book value. Dear son was looking at 15k cars, silly boy. I bought him his first car, but sure not going to do it again. He informed me he doesn't have much money saved. He previously told me he had tons of money saved. Oh to be a teenager again. I don't remember being so dumb. Hope this is enough to jar him into thinking before he acts. Well better get researching, Wondering how long I can stand hauling him back and forth before I break down and loan him the money.

hang tough Dave,, buy the cheapest cars you can find until he quits wrecking them.. In his mind he was going slow.. but it is what one perceives to be slow.. obviously it was not slow enough..

try to impress on him the cost of insurance after an accident or two.. for the money saved, he can buy a pretty nice car..

I don't even know what good hay price is...........however, Ashland WI has 550# rounds for $45, sounds like a good mix (could be nice names for weeds for all I know) and 1200# rounds for $55. The exact header under Wausau Farm & Garden is Round Bales (Northern Wisconsin) it's within the last 10 postings last night..Hey FT is that you lookin' for Hay? They'll load and/or haul looks like...

I agree with Jim 100%, David. If your son doesn't have $15k for a car, then I guess he'll need to readjust his priorities & settle for whatever he can afford. If that means a non-running car, then he ought to be saving a little harder. Sometimes the best lessons are learned through tough love, especially responsibility and not taking things for granted.

My parents bought my sis & bro their first cars when they started driving, but I think they only paid $50 for them. They ran fine & were safe, but they sure weren't anything to look at, believe me. By the time I came around, they got smarter & made me save up to buy my first car, and even then, there was no driving it unless I could afford insurance also. I think that alone taught me a lot.

You should make him pay for any parts for the new car too, including tires. Maybe between that and wiping out, he might learn to take better care of those tires.

Good afternoon--just finished my "lunch." Well, it was a little while ago I guess. DH is asleep in his recliner...It has been raining here most of the afternoon so far; it looks like it is 6:00 out there! My nephew came out with his Dad today--he is 8--helped me with chores. They took twice as long but he had a good time! Boys sure like to play with water! I was glad it was kinda warm at least...he was soaked. Then he found a whole pile of eggs and had a fantastic time tossing them onto the ground for the birds. I now have another place to look for eggs...of course they all appeared to be fresh...but you know what it would have been had I added them to the 'for sale' cartons! I let him take the bucket of eggs home with him.

DH is starting to snore...I think i need to find something to do. Maybe bring something up to make for supper. I am thinking soup or chili...I printed out a flourless chocolate cake recipe from GFE. I am thinking about making that too. Jim the GF diet cuts carbs but it is NOT a weight loss diet for sure! (oatmeal for breakfast is a good start) Less donuts is even better! LOL! Just start using a luncheon plate for your dinner plate...it's supposed to help with portion size.

good afternoon, I had nothing planned, but I managed to fall into some work anyhow..

Annie brought in one of those 110V space heaters.. said it was making a racket.. So I tore it down and found that the one end of the fan slipped out of it's bearing.. It is a rinkie dink fan, but it works again.. I had to completely disassemble the outer jackets .. about 50 screws.. I didn't put them all back in,, figured they weren't all needed.. had about 15 left over..

I have the heater down in my room to make sure it is going to work for awhile..It has it almost too warm in this room already.. I had it on low.. Annie came and cranked it up and closed the door..

my diet must be working,, I am feeling very hungry.. had 2 scrambled eggs for lunch.. .

I think a chef's salad would go good for supper..

tomorrow I am going to get a load of straw.. I like to cover my septic tank with it.. I will also build a wind break for the outside birds..

we are planning to chase the young turkeys into the small lean to.. they have taken a liking to the maple tree.. It is spooky to see them up there at night.. Like the movie,, "The Birds"

Thanks guys, Like I said not about to buy him a new 15K car or even something close. He pays his insurance because he won't hand in his homework, and gets lower grades. I had to buy my first car, he was lucky and got his free, although I kept it in my name, some leverage over him. Next car, he will have monthly payments till it is paid off.
