Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

CC I'm getting Lav Orp eggs from you, and Dom eggs from you, unless I just let you hatch out the baby Doms for me! :D

I'm going to get some kind of free eggs from Frenchie. I'm going to get my free 2 dozen from the hatch a long. Then I'm going to play like Jim and sell them! (Well not ALL of them! A girls gotta keep a few for herself;))

He is really big and not fully grown yet

This last picture is to show size. She is pretty small compared to my other Cornish crosses, however she is as tall as a 5 gallon bucket. The Silver Muscovy is about 20lbs.

I gotta say.... I love how the English Orp have so much fluff butt...

May be CC will post pics again of her Hershey. She is half chocolate Orp. And half black English Orp. And her butt should come with its own zip code!

Oh and I'm getting Hershey eggs too CC..........

Hi everyone, looks like you are all shut ins already with all the posts I miss in the couple of days I am away from the computer! Cant believe I have been wearing t-shirts all weekend while running the trapline and standing in marshes and waist deep creeks! This is crazy, but gotta make hay while the sun shines!

Hello to any newbies wait that still includes me!

Steve- ya know Tom Hudkins down there in Stoughton? If you do he might not admit it but he is my uncle.

This weather is truly a procrastinators dream!

I don't know Tom. Has he got chickens? My list of friends seems to revolve around them these days

I hear you on the weather and the "To Do" list. I may actually get the new run complete before the hens really need it (not that they are very appreciative at all...)

He does at my grandma's house just outside of town on 138 south. She was a first grade teacher for many years in Stoughton. That is where my moms side of the family is from.

Well, well, well. I asked my wife if she knew Tom Hudkins and she knows him, and his daughter Ann is on the 4-H Poultry Project with my daughters, and where I am the adult leader. Duh! Sometimes I swear I have a short circuit somewhere...

So, we know 'em

wet evening all, just had a huge downpour. like we have in June. It looked so wierd with the Christmas lights a shining. Washer is doing well. Still 53 degrees here. It looks like the banties stayed in all day. They are kind of boring, Hopefully come spring they will be more active.

Chris did you find homes for all the Kitties? How is your daughter dealing with it.
nothing new here, Just thought I 'd check in

Have a good night everyone.

Lazy Rainy day here today. never did get the elm off the floor in the woods.

Welcome Stevetone, hope you enjoy the cheeseheads. Small World, eh!

Sure wish I was close to you TO...no cable here and won't be able to watch the game with you tonight.

My daughters fiance needs help with his trapping. He studies, reads, goes to different trappers seminars etc...still ends up with more road kills and skunks than he wishes. I've been telling him he needs to hook up with a good ol boy that is willing to teach him a few tricks. The learning curve can take years longer without a little help from folks in the know.... just sayin.

I don't think I'm too interested in any more crosses than I already have. If you had some purebred English orp chicks, I'd trade you for some lavenders, if that is ok.

Bigfam, you have more bators than me, so you're getting Dom eggs. Unless someone were to go broody.

I sure wish I had a pure choc orp roo to breed Hershey to. Her butt definitely screams wide load. It's so big that when she's hauling @ss, she has to make two trips.

I had to chuckle at the "short circuit" comment. Sounds like you'll fit in around here just fine, Steve.

We had a couple of good downpours down here too. I'm glad they waited til after dark. Beautiful temps for Dec. I'll take it til April!

Not good news on the Critter front. Ramses has been steadily declining and might possibly be making his last trip to the vet tomorrow.

He has been very difficult about taking his pills lately, so I have been having to force them down him, making him afraid to get near us. The backup shots that we have for when he gets bad aren't helping him like they used to. We think they are adversely affecting his kidneys, which are also failing as is his heart. At least he lived a lot longer than they thought he would and had a good quality of life in the time he has had. He has been happy and playful up until a few days ago, so we are thankful for that. We had to bring Jasmine bunny back inside for the winter again. Her arthritis in her back legs just gets too bad with the cold weather. But so far she seems happy & healthy otherwise.
