Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Terri O called and is picking up the chicks on Saturday. I am so glad. I will have the same deal later in the spring. Cornish chicks for feed. These will not all be from my hens but I will also have some available from my hens. This next batch is from someone who owes me chicks. I would even be willing to sell just hatched for feed too.

If anyone is showing I will have Imported English chicks or eggs available later spring next year. I sell my eggs for $35.00 a dozen and my day old chicks for $25.00. Pullets for $100.00. I will sell a trio for $250.00.
I might be interested in some eggs in late spring or summer. I'll keep that in mind, and please do remind me too when you have some!

Hello- had my mini's hooves trimmed today. He did so good. Nice to have it done so I don't have to worry about it. I think I should be a ferrier. It took about 15 min., and she charged me $25.00. Totally worth it though. Hope you all have a great day! Here is a picture of my mini Cosmo and two of our kiddos DS9 and DS3

Thanks for the help

Hi all---MXM and I had a fun day today! We had to head over to one of my clients and make her bed up because I ran out of time this morning; then we headed to "the hat lady's" house. This woman makes really cool hats out of used sweaters and fleece that is donated to St Vincents. Then she donates all the proceeds to Vinnies and the food pantry. To date she has made nearly $11,000.00 for them! The best part is that she says she had way too much fun making them.
Then we got the pen ready for the meaties, carried in all my scrapbook stuff and went through my canned goods and make a HUGE basket of outdated stuff to feed to the chickens. I have decided that I need to buy or make a new shelf because one of the shelves has rusted through from water dripping on it.

Thanks JJ for the offer of help! I only took the birds because I called my neighbor that has that great set-up and asked if I could rent her space to do the birds. After she said yes is when I decided to go for it. I knew that I would not do it if I had to butcher them here...I already did that one year! I will let you know when...it will probably be 3-4 weeks out. I am thinking in the first week of January or so. I will see how quickly they fill out and gain weight in the cold weather.

I am watching a program with DD26, it is creepy. Christmas, Santa and an asylum...um American Horror Story. Yeah, I think I am freaked out and will be going to bed!

Goodnight good chickenfolk! TerriOalsowonderingaboutthoseMIA

I'm about 6 pages behind because my internet took a schmidt yesterday, not because of Ramses. On the kitty front, I'm copying & pasting what I e-mailed Bigfam because I really don't feel like rehashing the whole thing again.

Ramses is still with us, but it is possible he won't last the week. The vet drained the fluid from his chest as usual yesterday, then recommended we put him down. ***?!?!?!? So why bother draining him?????? Trying to drain our wallets too? Oh, I was about to go all ballistic crazy beoytch on her, but DH quickly diffused the sitch by telling her he wasn't ready to do that just yet seeing as she had just drained him. Ramses always gets much better after having the fluid drained out of his chest. So we started telling her that he has been having symptoms of an upper respiratory infection for the past few days, the same time as he started taking a nose dive. She thought maybe by clearing up the infection, it might help him improve a little (ya think?!?!?!?) so now I'm giving him antibiotics on top of all the other meds I have to force down the poor guy. But on the plus side, he does seem to be feeling better today, so that helps a little. At least he is eating, drinking and walking around fine and above all does not seem to be suffering. But when that changes........ sigh.
